I rarely review a place. I only do it when I really disagree with the reviews. I don’t understand why people rate it so highly. I get it that it’s wagyu. And the wagyu steak pieces were nice. But there were 3 small slices of wagyu (the size of fries).
I also get that Japan dresses everything as wagyu and charges it at least double. I would do the same. But paying 10.000 yen or 66 euro for 2 “tower” burgers that are way smaller than average (the patties were half the size of the bun) is ridiculous. And I come from the Netherlands which is not a cheap country to eat out. Next, the burgers came with 9 fries each. Not more, not less, 9. But till now I can get someone that says: you saw it before you got it. What’s your problem? Then we saw that there is no salad in the burgers. So to add a slice of tomato and lettuce you pay 350 yen extra. And finally, to get ketchup or mayonnaise you have to pay extra 50 yen. So I’ll leave it to the customers to judge it but a sincere comment to the owner is to respect their customers and give them what they pay for. You want to charge 33 euro for a burger? Do it but make it the most memorable burger for them. And for good reasons instead of bad.
Apologies for the bad review but it was a rather bad experience and one that doesn’t match with...
Read moreBest burger I've ever eaten, on par with a wonderful smash burger I ate in France, which wasn't wagyu like this one but it was very good. We ordered 2 wagyu tower burgers, one with avocado. The meat is juicy and melts in your mouth, topped with wagyu steak slices which biting into feel like biting into meat flavored butter. The service is fast paced and a bit smug, workers didn't know what type of wagyu was being served and it wasn't being said anywhere, not in the sign nor the menus. After eating we checked the receipt and it said "Kuroge Wagyu", which basically means A5 Wagyu... Spectacular. The atmosphere is a bit annoying in the evening with loud and drunk colleagues sitting nearby who disregard your space shouting "huuuuuuh" literally every couple of seconds, but it was quickly contrast by the good taste of the food. We came for a second time the day after in the evening, but the preparation wasn't as good as the day before when we came at noon. Different staff I guess. The meal is very expensive at 4,300jpy per wagyu tower burger, but worth it. Overall very...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Nick Stock!
From the moment we stepped into Nick Stock at the Kyoto Tower, we knew we were in for something truly special. We ordered the Wagyu Tower Burger and the Nick Steak for our son, and I must say, each bite was simply heavenly. The Wagyu Tower Burger is, without a doubt, the best burger we have ever tasted. The wagyu beef was of exceptional quality, juicy and cooked to perfection, superbly complemented by fresh ingredients and soft, tender buns.
The Nick Steak was also a revelation, perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly to our son’s liking. It’s clear that Nick Stock spares no expense in quality and knows how to please its diners with flavors that are both authentic and innovative.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring every aspect of our meal was perfect. The ambiance of the place adds a special charm, making our dinner an even more delightful experience.
