Suzaku garden is a short walk from To-ji Temple. It's is extremely well maintained and a very pleasant private garden. Entrance is 200 yen which is a great price. Well worth it to help the staff with the upkeep. Many beautiful flowers and trees are found here with a waterfall leading into a small pond. Included in the ticket is access to the forest of life. The forest has wooden walkways up through the trees and a ramp is present as access for those with disabilities. If you are visiting To-ji or just in the area then I highly recommend visiting this garden while you are here!

A small Japanese garden with a surprising amount of beauty and stillness for it's modest size. Not really a botanical garden though and the labelling of the plants, etc, is quite sparse. The resident crane, swifts, crows, and kingfishers make it a lovely space and there always seems to be one more small winding path you can explore. I recommend relaxing here as a lovely space with minimal entry fee.

2022/11/19に紅葉ライトアップに行きました。そもそも梅小路公園には初めて行きました。京都駅から歩けば良かったのですが、バス１日券を持っていることもあり、バスで移動することにしました。結論は失敗でした。どこ行きのバスに乗りどこで降りるのかがGoogleMapで出てきたルートでもどのバスかがわかりませんでした。徒歩が一番良かったかな、と思っています。さて、朱雀の庭は、「紅葉まつり」400円でした。紅葉まつりは、2022年11月11日(金)から11月27日(日)の17:00～21:00(最終入園は20:30)に開催でした。思いの外、綺麗でした。池に映る紅葉が鮮やかで幻想的でした。入場客は、全体も２−３０組いるかどうか、というくらいですのでかなりゆったりしています。ただ広くはなく、見どころも限られているので人が集中しがちです。夜間ライトアップ拝観はどこも混雑し、入場までに並ばなければならないので、今回は空いていそうな場所を選択しました。
