Avoid this place at all costs. It’s An expensive, unreasonable terrible experience. The check in takes a considerable long time given my experience of the last 3 months traveling in Japan. They’re. Totally disorganized. It’s also pricier than most of hostels, they charge 500 ¥ for storing luggage after checking out which is not only uncommon in Japan but in every hostel everywhere else. Then, they have people living in the hostel permanently, some of them who are unfortunately unwell and they put traveler guests in the same rooms. I was woken up several times in the morning, staring at 7 am with extremely loud noises of videos and music. The man said that he can’t do anything about it. That i was in a room with 3 mentally challenged people. So I booked one night in this place with the single intention of resting and that’s something they cannot commit to. When I politely gave the feedback to the man in charge, he said this isn’t a charity house, that they’re a business, to what I responded, that since it is a hospitality business they should be committed to deliver a good experience to their guests. I can’t understand how is it that they’re running this and having any positive review with a person in charge that has this tule of mentality, attitude...
Read moreA cozy little guest house located in the heart of Kyoto! I felt so welcome and I truly met my overseas family here. I booked an extra day and the host made accommodations for me. It felt like a home more than a hostel to be honest. The friendships I cultivated here will last a lifetime.
The environment is lively, safe, and inclusive. You cook, eat, laugh, and meet travelers from all over the world. The Japanese style upstairs is so lovely, and they have a map downstairs of places to go! Thankful I got to stay in such a communal space filled with respect and kindness on my trip. I stayed at a lot of hostels in Japan, this was by far my favorite. I also loved that they had a girls room.
If you stay here, make sure to enjoy all the restaurants in the area. The bakery and beef place are epic! If you get a chance to check out the bar next door you’ll see a very handsome Japanese man making food and drinks at 8 hacchi. Best takoyaki of my life.
Thank you for the fond memories and I hope to find myself back here again sooner...
Read moreI stayed here for a few nights and the only good thing about this hostel are the The location and the host (super friendly). Other than that I would avoid this place, the rooms are stupidly small. There is no space for everyone's bags/luggage and people are literally tripping over stuff because the rooms are TINY!
The rooms are also no sound proof, so you can hear everything, including the sound of the train. Also, when people have to leave early, you can hear them because the room is SO TINY!
They mention amenities like 24 hour security and someone being at the front desk 24 hours on hostel world; that's a total lie. There is no one there over night. They also charge you if you want to leave your bag there after you check out. It's a hostel; of course people are going to leave their stuff there after they check out for a little bit.
I will not be going back and I recommend you avoid this place. It's not...
