Connecting the downtown shopping and dinning areas known as Shinsaibashi-suji and Ebisubashi-suji on the banks of Dōtonbori Canal in Chuo Ward, the Ebisu Bridge is a famous tourist spot in Osaka.

Since the bridge was built, it has been repaired and replaced 13 times. In 1878, the bridge was converted into a steel bridge, and in 1925, into a reinforced concrete arch bridge. The current bridge was completed in 2007 and was planned as part of the Dotonbori Riverfront Development Project under the theme “Aquapolis Osaka”.

The bridge is popular to tourists who want unique photos. The southwest side of the bridge is a favorite due to the presence of the large Glico Running Man signboard. It also provides a view of boats carrying tourists on the canal, a view of the Don Quijote Ferris wheel and other landmarks that make Osaka’s Namba area easily...
