I saw Gary Clark Jr at Namba Hatch. The sound was absolutely terrible for the first 10min... The bass was so heavy it hid all the other frequencies. Hearing the chord changes was impossible. Maybe it was my position in the room, but the sound was terrible. Fortunately the audio engineer somewhat fixed the problem by the third song by bringing down the bass in the mix, but that muffled farty bass heavy frequency crept back in towards the end of the show as they raised the volume towards the end. Maybe it's a problem of the room's design. Maybe it was that particular audio engineer.
Update: Went to see Cory Wong at Namba Hatch a few weeks later and the sound was great!... so I guess Gary Clark Jr.'s audio engineer was the source of the bass heavy mix. I upgraded my star rating for...
