Impressive collection of glassworks. They are a bit pricy; but very original and make the best gifts from Otaru. A glass averages around ¥5,000. Very friendly customer service; we were very tight on schedule and visited just 30 minutes before closing @ 18:00. Didn't check out until probably 5 minutes before closing but the staff were super patient and helpful. Wish that the store could open until a bit later; but almost all the stores nearby close at 18:00 as well.

Otaru is a fantastic date spot with lots of cute little places to visit. This spot has a neat little cafe that serves floats and light meals. Rustic atmosphere with 3 piano performance time slots every week Tuesday-Friday . The pianist played a nice medley from jazz standards, Chopin to Zelda and ghibli tunes. There is a scent of burning petrol as the lamps in the store are fueled by kerosene. May be off-putting to some. Overall a nice little date stop

北一硝子のオイルランプが煌めく素敵な空間の北一ホールがあります。 店舗には様々なガラス工芸品を取り扱っています。毎回醤油差しを購入。お目当てのものはクリスタル館にあるようでした。 ちょっと店内の２階部分は灯油？オイル？の匂いが立ち込めていて早々に退散しました。 北一ホールはクリスマス時期でしたのでツリーもあり雰囲気も２割増でした。 のんびりとランプや雰囲気を眺めながらコーヒーを頂くので滞在時間は自然と長めになる。そのため待ちが発生してるとかなり時間を使うのでちょっと時間をずらすとよいかもしれません。待ちがあったので別のお店を見てから再訪問したら待ち時間もなく店内も落ち着いた感じで入ることができました。 ここは小樽に来るたびに訪れたい場所です。 There is Kitaichi Hall, a wonderful space with sparkling Kitaichi Glass oil lamps. The store carries a variety of glass crafts. I buy a soy sauce jug every time. It looks like what you're looking for is in the Crystal Hall. Is there kerosene on the second floor of the store? oil? The smell was so strong that I had to leave quickly. Since it was Christmas time at Kitaichi Hall, there was a tree and the atmosphere was 20% more crowded. You can enjoy your coffee while relaxing and looking at the lamps and atmosphere, so your stay will naturally be longer. Therefore, if there is a wait, it will take a lot of time, so it may be a good idea to shift the time a little. There was a wait, so I looked at another store and visited again, and there was no wait and I was able to enter the store with a calm atmosphere. This is a place I want to visit every time I come to Otaru.

Amazing place, has a store where they sell many object made of glass, also has a traditional cafe (line is long, but service very fast, so you will not wait more than 10-15 min) The store is expensive, but you can find some cute things for about 1000 yen, they also sell jewelry (earings, necklaces starting from 1000 yen) and traditional japanese cups, glasses, tea sets etc.

2023/12/31 we arrived here around 11-12 am before lunch time we just grabbed some coffee, they tasted fine- I mean the beverage and drink here are not expensive. As many shared, the smell of lamp will get strong the longer you stay. But definitely a great experience visiting a place like this…aren’t these lamps shine gracefully during the dark? ☺️
