Nestled in the stylish Aoyama district close to Omotesando, Kintan Yakiniku offers a compelling yakiniku experience that expertly balances quality and ambiance. During our visit, we opted for three distinct orders: the Weekday Lunch special, a Tongue Platter, and the Sukiyaki Yakiniku.
The Weekday Lunch special proved to be an excellent choice for a hearty and affordable meal, offering a variety of dishes that were both satisfying and well-portioned. The Tongue Platter was a standout, featuring exquisitely cooked slices of tongue that were tender and bursting with flavor, demonstrating the high quality of the meat Kintan is known for.
The Sukiyaki Yakiniku was particularly memorable. It included thinly sliced beef that we cooked ourselves at the table, dipped into a rich and sweet sukiyaki sauce, then paired with a raw egg yolk and fluffy rice. The combination of the hot, savory meat with the cool, creamy egg created a delightful contrast that enhanced the overall flavor.
The restaurant atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, ideal for enjoying a leisurely meal. While each dish stood out on its own, together they created a fulfilling and flavorful dining experience. The sauces, particularly with the sukiyaki, were perfectly balanced, adding depth and richness without overwhelming the natural tastes of the meats.
Kintan Yakiniku is definitely a go-to spot in Tokyo for anyone looking to indulge in high-quality yakiniku. Whether you’re there for a quick weekday lunch or a more leisurely meal, the restaurant delivers on both taste and service, making it a must-visit for locals and...
Read moreThey don't actually have an English menu here, so it's pretty hard for us tourist to understand. When we first arrive we asked which are recommended, but they didn't know how to explain to us. We end up ordering what they offer which is a set menu, cost around 8000 yen. They said its for two people. So we decide to give it a try. Honestly it's not that good, you can pay less and get better meat. Trouble happen when we're about to pay, and we asked for the bill suddenly the bill show us around 18.000 yen. We're shocked, not because we can't afford it but we were told that 8000 was for two, turn out it was for one person. The waiter who was serving us we can understand his limited in English, told us it was for two. In the end they gave us extra discount. The service is quite slow too. I'm not against you who want to give it a try, but maybe there's better restaurant out there to try. Other than the food The place is nice, quite hidden and the ambience is good, somehow they allow customers smoking inside an air conditioned room. So the verdict is not worth it. But maybe...

I asked other customer to check if its ok to show the dog and they said its ok but the stuff kept asking to tie to the chair and put the dog in the bag like neglecting animals. They came back and charged everything we ordered and saying we cant change but when I go to the kitchen with the stuff they are only cooking fries…. So I asked to change the bill and finally they changed. They kept lying to what they were doing to us so we had horrible dinner experience. We ended up going to other place near by and the stuff was so welcoming to dog and they treated my dog part of family. If you are dog lover dont go to this place. You'll have saddest experience.
