When in Tokyo, particularly in Ginza where one can bask in the life of the rich & famous, there are many way to splurge your money and since this is a food post I'm going to write something on dessert. FYI you seldom read posts on desserts on my page because I am not really a dessert person and I'm on a low carb diet most of the times. Eating like these everyday would definitely give me a bulging waist and a risk of heart attack.
This fancy dessert place is located on the 3rd floor of Shiseido building in the glitzy area of Ginza not far from the swanky Ginza Six mall, one has to queue like everyone else - no reservation or booking - and if it's packed, might have to start waiting on the 1st floor before proceeding to the 3rd. ◾The whole cafe was in pink colour, clean and tidy but honestly, it looked tired and seriously in dire need of refurbishment. ◾Once you were seated, just browsed through their menu before making your selection. ◾"Koihime" Special Strawberry Parfait ¥1890 - I'm not a fan of dessert but since this particular item was one of the must try, I have it a go. One scoop was all it took to get me hooked.. clearly too notch ingredients were used to create this beautiful cup of strawberry Parfait and I found myself enjoying it. ◾Homemade Cake Set ¥1540 - it comes with a choice of coffee or tea. They have specified in the menu that they can't sell only single item cake so the set is the only choice. Once you placed this order, they will push a cart over to you and you have to choose one out of many beautiful selections on the spot.
Take time to sit down and enjoy your choice of dessert and satisfy your sweet craving at...
Read moreI ( Japanese ) visited with my partner and his mom and grandma ( Brazilian) because I always use shiseido skincare and my partner made this visit surprised for me. however when I visited the shop, beautiful and expensive looks which is I understand as its what shiseido is. When we arrived, there is non Japanese lady and Japanese old staff were not friendly at all coz wearing the mask? However you still could do well customer service using eyes and voice tone... They were just standing there n told us that we had to wait for out turn about 40mins if it was not surprise from him, I would def leave the area immediately but this was from my partner so we decided to wait. I really didn't like their customer service at all.
So I went back for our turn, non Japanese lady & the old man staff welcomed us but nah not great, not friendly. Anyway went up to level 3 for cafe, the old Lady didn't ask us which table we wanna sit and she just chose the table near entrance but later I saw the old lady staff asked two customer where they wanna sit…. I was disappointed.. How RUDE!! I didn't feel fare at all, treated by most of their staff very badly…
Food was beautiful but their hospitality was great.
Thank you to my partner… not to them.
I won't recommend you could find better place to have a lovely moment with your...
Read moreI've been here multiple times and finally decided to leave a review.
Most recently, I was here for lunch. We ordered a lunch set menu that was excellent value - for approximately ¥5,000, you get a soup of the day, croquette, fish, hayashi rice, and dessert.
Their cold consomme is so delicious and unique that I ordered it a la carte on top of my lunch set.
Croquette always perfectly crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside. Excellent flavor.
A bunch of reviewers have expressed disappointment over their omurice - I agree that it's not the best. However, Shiseido Parlour's hayashi rice and curry rice are where it's really at. They whip up a perfect demi-glace sauce base that's an umami bomb. So good.
Reservations are highly recommended, even on weekdays. It's a popular spot and you'd be faced with a long wait and potential disappointment if you just walk in.
Decor is definitely not to everybody's taste. Dated? No, the place feels newly renovated. You just have to accept that it's a shoujo palace targeting Japanese aunties (should be obvious from their website copy LOL.) Every time we've been there, the place was always packed with housewives and old ladies having a great...
