Stayed last September, it just took me a long time to write this review. Our accommodation was on the top/12th floor for 5 nights. This hotel is located within walking distance to Tsukiji Fish Market, Ginza. And it was my husband's wish to see Kabuki and this place is also about 15-20 min walk from Kabukiza. Starting with the check in process, staff were welcoming and courteous. It only took us a few minutes to get our room. Very nice and clean front desk area with my favorite room filled with snacks and drinks! Our room was super clean, quiet, shower and toilet were separated. And I will have to mention about the shower. My husband could not compliment enough about the shower with many options such as rain, massage, waterfall... he just loved taking the shower, lol! And my favorite was the Dyson hair dryer! For higher floor benefit, they also had another snack/drink bar on the 10th floor if I remember correctly, and if you don't feel like going all the way down to the front desk area. And one incident that I can't forget to mention. You don't usually see room attendant present, but I happened to encounter one in the hallway so asked to see if we could get extra towels since we declined the cleaning. After he said no problem, he ran the hallway to get the towels and came back like a Flush Man! I was soooo impressed as we don't get this kind of service often in United States. I am Japanese native, and made me appreciate my heritage. Typhoon was heading to Tokyo the day we were checking out to move onto Nagoya. We were deciding if we should stay another night to wait out or leave early, so we asked the front desk. And they assured me that they'll have accommodation for us if we decided to stay another night. We ended up leaving earlier but didn't mind if Typhoon kept us there for another night. I can go on and on about how great and impressed with Karakusa Hotel. I told my son that I will book this hotel for him when they are visiting Tokyo. Trust my review, you won't regret it. I am heading to Osaka next, and saw they have one there as well. I am sure Karakusa Hotel will be at the top of my list to choose from since I trust...
Read moreStayed in the Superior Double Room for 7 nights in December 2023 and had a great time. Room was big considering the smaller sizes of most hotel rooms in Tokyo. There was a coffee table with 2 chairs and a long table below the TV with a stool as well. The toilet facilities were great. There was a separate toilet area where the toilet bowl was located. The shower area had a huge bathtub next to it and adequate space for showering without getting into the tub. The water pressure was awesome and one of the best I've ever experienced. The bed was huge, so that is definitely a plus. One downside for my wife and I was that we found it a bit too hard for our liking. But then again, I suppose that boils down to personal preference. The nice touch that the hotel had was the free lounge access on the 2nd floor. As a guest, you are allowed to get drinks and snacks from there from 6.30am till 10pm daily. There was coffee, apple juice, orange juice, coke and bottled water. Some pastries and donuts as well. You could also drink the wine available there. For smokers, there is a smoking room available on the 2nd floor as well. Location-wise, it was great as in less than 5 minutes walk, you would be in the main Ginza area. Shimbashi train station is about a 10 minute walk away as well so it is convenient. From the hotel, around the corner, there is a family mart so you can go snacks and drinks easily. There is also a Donki just opposite, so you can even do some shopping close by. If you want to try Ichiran Ramen, it is slightly a further walk from the Shimbashi train station, so really convenient as well. Overall, had a wonderful time staying...
