I was surprised to find an actual forest in the middle of Tokyo. It's quite dense and big and not as manicured as most of the parks I've seen and quite wild in places. There is a nice variety of old trees and foliage (a lot of them labeled) and some creeks and water as well. It's almost enough to make you forget you are in Tokyo, if only there wasn't so much noise. The side adjacent to the main road is very noisy, and it seems to be in the flightpath of an airport with non-stop planes overhead. Still, an anomalie in this metropolis and well...

I was surprised to find an actual forest in the middle of Tokyo. It's quite dense and big and not as manicured as most of the parks I've seen and quite wild in places. There is a nice variety of old trees and foliage (a lot of them labeled) and some creeks and water as well. It's almost enough to make you forget you are in Tokyo, if only there wasn't so much noise. The side adjacent to the main road is very noisy, and it seems to be in the flightpath of an airport with non-stop planes overhead. Still, an anomalie in this metropolis and well worth a visit.
