There are 2 main buildings the first buidling is smaller, featuring exhibitions about geography and biology, about the ecosystem when animals first appear in japan to the age of human. Not many photoesque places in the first buidling. You will enjoy the first buidling in you are a biology or geology nerd. the second building is still about animals, but have more human technology aspect like radio/computer/clock technology, and I think would be more enjoyable for non-biology nerd. Please don't miss the second buidling if you go to this museum. For people who are not really interested in science, I think this is a good place to kill time, but not a must go place. But if you love science, this place is recommended. For tourist, there is the headpiece for listening to english description, as the exhibitions are all in japanese, you have only the headpiece or google translate to help you. So not recommended at all for people who don't really like science and can't...

Great museum, very clean and impressive with the animals that are reconstructed in their real size. The dinosaure bones gallery and the sperm whale un particular are what impressed me.

The entrance fee is very cheap, 600Yen.

80% of the signs aren't in English so there aren't as many tourists here as in the Tokyo National Museum but if you are motivated to translate everything it's a must do.

If you are learning Japanese, the kanjis are also written in letters because a lot of kids visit this museum, so you can understand the...

Not only children, but adults would be agreeing to say this museum is truly a gem in the city. We could see the efforts and hardworks of the scientists and staffs for collecting and showing the animal fossils from the countries in the world, not an easy work!! We also witness how this huge nature (animals and plants) could be united in a place, together with the stones and tools, equipments, from all ancient era to this modern technology, are here!! A must...
