Visited the Tokyo National Museum to admire a high-resolution facsimile of the legendary “Wind God and Thunder God Screens” (Fūjin Raijin-zu Byōbu). 🌪️⛈️ Originally an Important Cultural Property, the artwork is a stunning representation of nature’s overwhelming power, depicted through these two dynamic deities.

👀 Key Highlights: 📌 The Wind God (green) bursts onto the right screen, whipping up powerful gusts. 📌 The Thunder God (white) stands firm, ready to counterbalance the storm. 📌 The blurred ink rain clouds create depth, making the two gods almost come alive!

While the original piece is not currently on display, this exquisite facsimile allows us to appreciate the artistic genius behind it. 🖌️🎭

Great airport… very large! Had to use the moving walkway to get from the plane to immigration/customs. On my way back home I was lucky to have a ticket that allowed me to get into the first class lounge… very nice. I usually travel economy so this was a real treat. Observation deck was really nice.
