Since my flight was scheduled to arrive at Haneda Airport around 11 PM, I was concerned about potential delays and the possibility of missing public transportation to the city center. To avoid these issues, I opted for the more expensive Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport Hotel, prioritizing convenience. It was supposed to be a hassle-free choice, as the hotel is just a short 10-minute walk from the airport terminal. However, my experience was extremely disappointing, and the stay was absolutely not worth the price.

Key Issues During My Stay: First Room: Unlocked and Completely Unprepared After checking in at the lobby, the system assigned me to Room 7301. Excited to finally get some rest, I went to the room, only to find the door unlocked. When I opened the door, I was shocked to see the room filled with two large carts and a pile of futons and other supplies. It was clear that the room was not prepared for guests. I immediately took photos and went back to the reception desk to report the issue.

The receptionist reviewed the photos but showed no surprise or concern, as if this was a normal occurrence. She took pictures of the issue with her phone, saying she needed to inform her supervisor before assigning a new room. Even after speaking with her supervisor, neither the receptionist nor the supervisor offered an apology. Eventually, the receptionist said they could only provide a room on a lower floor. Exhausted, I reluctantly agreed, hoping to rest as soon as possible.

Second Room: Unpleasant Odor The new room on the 4th floor was no better. As soon as we opened the door, a strong, unpleasant smell hit us. I asked the receptionist about the odor, and she responded by asking if I couldn't accept it. She admitted she could smell it too but was unable to explain its source. The smell was unbearable, and there was no way I could stay in that room for the night. Once again, I requested a room change.

The receptionist seemed very reluctant to help and mentioned that the hotel was nearly fully booked. I insisted that the room was uninhabitable and asked if there were other room types available. She consulted with her supervisor again, but as before, the supervisor avoided any direct interaction with me or offering an apology.

Third Room: Resolved, But Only After a Long Wait After nearly an hour of back-and-forth discussions, the hotel finally assigned me a third room that was acceptable. From the initial issue with the first room to finally settling into a proper room, the entire process was exhausting and frustrating. The main reason I chose this hotel was for the convenience of being able to rest immediately after my flight, but instead, I ended up wasting both my time and energy dealing with these issues.

Conclusion: This was by far the most disappointing hotel stay I’ve experienced in all my trips to Japan. I chose this hotel for its convenience, but what I got in return was frustration, wasted time, and subpar service. The hotel failed to meet even basic standards of room preparation and customer service. The lack of professionalism and care from the staff, especially the absence of any apology or accountability, was extremely disheartening. For the price I paid, this stay was absolutely not worth it. I will never consider...

I had just gone from a quiet hotel in Nagasaki to this very busy hotel in Tokyo. At first I was like what is going on. There was a long line to check in and the lobby was very busy. But the line went by quick! They are so efficient and have staff to guide you through the kiosks to make the check as quick as possible.

I was actually at the wrong hotel. I was at the Grand. If you’re staying at the Premier, walk to the back and through the doors; it’s kinda the same hotel but different. The Premier check-in was flawless. No line, quiet lobby and impeccable service from the gentleman who checked me in. He was professional, nicely presented and I loved how he took me up to my room. Very nice service. And then their welcome gifts really blew me away: a couple Japanese sweets and a complimentary mini bar with some sake, orange juice, a couple beers, water and green tea. This has been the first hotel to have such a gesture. I did not go unnoticed.

The housekeeping was top-notch. The attention to detail and cleanliness was outstanding.

At first I heard noise from another room, which was quite annoying. And then that night and the rest of the time I didn’t hear anything. Thank the lord because that would have brought down the rating.

The spa/onsen is the best onsen I have experienced in Japan and I have been to A LOT of onsens. It’s so busy but so efficient. The service is impeccable. And the onsen is amazing: a soda bath, hot water onsen, cold plunge, jacuzzi, sauna, salt sauna, outdoor onsen and a rock bath sauna (800 additional yen). Oh, and a 24 hour restaurant in the spa with delicious food. They have spa treatments as well such as massages and body scrubs (additional charge).

Loved the 24 hour fitness center, too. Front desk was so friendly and helpful. This hotel really made my last two days in Japan fantastic.

I HIGHLY...

This hotel is amazing and the service is phenomenal. We stayed at the Villa Fontaine Grand for 7 nights and decided to spoil ourselves a little bit so we book two nights in Villa Fontaine Premier. The best choice we did! The service they give us when we enter the hotel is amazing. The hotel lobby is blocked by two big doors so it is super quiet and relaxing in the lobby, not as loud and busy as Ville Fontaine Grand. One of the check in lobbyist took their time to go up to our room and show us the little fridge with drinks which is included and the room features. In Villa Fontaine Grand, there's only the bathtub shower, but in the Premier, there's walk in shower and bathtub. The bathroom is super spacious and the necessities such as tooth brush/paste, facial skin care, brush, and everything you need was in the bathroom. The room was also SPACIOUS and the view of the water. The shampoo and body soap that is provided smell soooooo good! Also, since we were on floor 6, it is super convenient since the gym is on the same floor and if we decide to go up to the spa, we can. Just everything in this hotel room is perfect. Everyone was super respectful and professional. Even when we left the hotel, they helped us all the way to the elevator and bow until the elevator door is closed. Highly recommended!

Also, the public Onsen is a plus. The price is super reasonable and there’s so much to do. There’s the massage area, relaxation area, the hot stone rooms, the balcony bath, indoor baths, and they all have different temperature. I also have tattoos and I thought it would be an issue, but they didn’t give me much issues and welcome us with amazing service. Also, there’s a restaurant at the Spa that is open 24 hours for good food and the view of...
