Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and okonomiyaki are popular Japanese dishes. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is widely known in Hiroshima Prefecture, while okonomiyaki originated in Osaka and has spread throughout Japan.

Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is cooked on a hotplate and involves layering the ingredients. Typical ingredients used in Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki include chewy noodles, cabbage, pork, seafood, and eggs. These ingredients are cooked on the hotplate while adding sauce and okonomiyaki sauce for flavor. Finally, the okonomiyaki is flipped over the mesh-like noodles and further cooked. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is characterized by its neatly layered appearance and substantial volume.

On the other hand, okonomiyaki, commonly found in Osaka, has a different style. Okonomiyaki is made by mixing a batter primarily consisting of wheat flour with ingredients such as cabbage, pork, seafood, and green onions. It is then cooked on a hotplate. Okonomiyaki is typically served as a large round pancake, about 20 to 30 centimeters in diameter, and each one is cooked individually. Toppings such as sauce, mayonnaise, aonori (seaweed flakes), and katsuobushi (bonito flakes) are commonly added to okonomiyaki.

Both dishes have slight variations depending on the region, but they are beloved and popular Japanese dishes enjoyed by...

I ordered the one with shrimp and it was truly the best okonomiyaki I've ever had and at an airport! It took perhaps 15 minutes to prepare, but the results were well worth it. It came sizzling hot on an iron grill with delicious noodles as the bottom layer and a generous amount of shrimp on top. I consumed every bit of it and my next visit to Haneda will certainly be another stop at this restaurant. Staff was very helpful and bilingual and there were no issues...
