Read moreWhen Yodabashi is first mentioned, everyone's first assumption will be of Akihabara Electric Town, and the seven storey Yodabashi store. I spent some time there and found a few items I was interested in, and got the details to Google later for more information and reviews. WHen I was ready to buy, I was in a bit of a hurry and decided to try a lesser known but closer branch in Shinjuku, where I was staying.
It was a bit more difficult to locate, given that instead of a multi-storied single building like in Akihabara, the Shinjuku branch is spread among several buildings, with multiple floors. The headphone section was still fairly large on the 4th floor (rice cookers on the fifth floor).
Price wise this is a great store, as well as a massive selection. Lots of demo hardware all over the stores. Staff are spread throughout the floor, though as a foreigner I had to try and get a hold of someone to help me. Despite limited English on their part, communication was acceptable and purchasing was simple. Getting tax free purchases is relatively simple.

When asked to talk to a manager they (the staff) ignored us and because was below 5000 yen the 3 items we could do tax free. Staff very rude uneducated and we felt...
