As an SPG member - shocked this is claimed as a 5*. Maybe for Egypt but not international standards. We checked in at 4am and the room was a disgrace - full of cigarette smoke, a full ashtray, coffee cups half full and garbage in the waste bin. Housekeeping and the staff should be ashamed. We had to wait a half hour for cleaning which is unacceptable as the room should ha e been ready for us the previous day. No real apology from the staff either. Made me wonder how much they actually clean. Definitely grossed me out. My room was from the 1980s. See attached pictures including a TV I hadn't seen in decades. WiFi is horrid and doesn't work in the rooms. Bed was very hard and air conditioning was loud & probably needed a good clean. Bathroom was rundown with no hairdryer. Free breakfast was really limited and cold. The breakfast room was huge too - could have offered better fare. My fav part of the place was the pool- especially the heated pool with the waterfall. The views of the Pyramids are great. The pool restaurant was great too - loved our lamb and kofta. Most of the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful too. Overall, this isn't typical SPG standards. It is fully of tour groups rolling in and out continually so I guess they don't need to cater to upscale clientele.

Whilst staying in Cairo we tried four different hotels - this was definatley the best one! On arrival, check-in was quick and efficient. A gentleman kindly helped us with our luggage to our room, he was very kind and polite. He showed us around the room and answered any questions that we had. We booked a room with a view of the pyramids and he kindly took us some pictures with us posing in front of them. The rooms we nice, modern and clean. Well furnished, also! Unfortunately, when I booked a room with a view of the pyramids - I didn't expect there to be a buildng in the way of the veiw (as is seen on the picture). The facilities at the hotel are great; the swimming pool is quite large and clean. It's nice to get away from the inner city for a bit and relax. The gym and sauna downstairs are great. It's a very big gym, and there's even a nice sized open space next door where you can do some groups sessions such as aerobics. Even has a punching bag with gloves provided! Breakfast was very good also, with a variety of food for all. Even has soya milk! Unfortunately the foul (bean dish) was quite disappointing though. They also served fresh egyptian flat bread each morning. Overall, this is an excellent hotel and I would advise anyone and everyone to stay here whilst visiting the pyramids!

Stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms were spacious, clean and were upto the standard. Even the restaurant was very much upto the standard with a wide variety a food options to choose from with a nice view of the pool area. There was a bank inside the hotel which I found to be very helpful in changing foreign currency plus there were a couple of souvenir shops inside as well. However It felt that the hotel was understaffed and we had to carry our luggage on our own to our respective rooms and the majority of the staff was not as friendly and attentive as expected. Some rarely smiled and this was a big let down as I found Egyptians to be generally very friendly. In case you decide to buy souvenirs please make sure that you don't buy it from the souvenir shops available inside the hotel as they are unnecessarily priced. Overall it was a pleasant stay here and would recommend this place for future travellers.

I was told this to be one of the best hotels in Cairo and while we entered into the hotel and it looked like one. The rooms didn't give me the impression that it was the same place at all. The beds were nice, but my room didn't have a view of the pyramids! The bathrooms were very small and quite many things in the room were dated which was a big disappointment. However, the food was delicious, the dining area wnd the reception was beautiful, the bell boys and the staff were helpful and the WiFi in the rooms was quite decent. The pool was very well maintained as well and one can get a view of the pyramids from there. One should definitely carry their water bottles with you since water is charged. Overall though we had really high hopes but it just turned out to be an average experience for us.

I would have given this place a 5 star but are visit now is not so great. I checked in to this hotel at the beginning of my trip and it was amazing! Loved my room and everything. Then I came back from going to Luxor and Aswan. First we got in a room the smelled super super bad of smoke. It gave me a headache. Then they put me in to the VERY old smells like mold a bit. My room I am in right now wall paper it coming off and the sheet have a weird smell. I would move again but it took 40 minutes to me in to my first room then another 40 minutes to get in to my next room. For being a Marriott it is not like the other. Trust me I only stay at Marriott. Very disappointed in this hotel. Oh and also they WIFI sucks. It does not work at all. Very disappointed. I hope the next 2 night will go by fast!!

The location is perfect. They are right opposite the great pyramids of Giza. You can see the pyramids from the hotel by the pool and some of the rooms. The service and staff are exceptionally good. They were very helpful. I would like to especially mention Ms Nour, the customer relationship manager who went out of the way to make our stay more comfortable. Mr Amr and Mr Moshen and team who helped me make some food in their kitchen for my child. The inroom dining also has good options. The breakfast spread is good. Lots of options. The property is a bit dated but overall we had a great stay and would recommend people to stay there. It is about 45 to 1 hour away from Cairo airport.
