Hahaha...where can i start.

this place have a weighting service. Dont take a ready pack dry dood especially the anchives or dried prawns.take the top one. Dont take when the seller start mixed it again during weighting proses. Coz u will get the jeavy stuffa like small stones, small crusticion shell, or some heavy debris.

Its also make your packing long period to stay fresh coz the dry air in Sabah will driwd up the moisture while it stay in the gunny sack. I like to choose thw meedium ikan bilis and peel of into 2. 500g will be nice. And the rest you can add like small prawn, baby crabs, ikan kering - ikan kering but not salted (just nice to make miso)

Wet stuff never try to purcase but is so cheap.

Oh remember to purcase the parking coupon. Last time last year they didnt charge for parking. But just stand by if you want to park your car at any DBKK area. The price around rm5 ++ for a book.

Avoid using slipper if you dont like to step into the water pool/blackish color/ heavy fish smell.

Optional if any local sarawakian or lawas limbang or maybe long journey vissitor, enjoy your wet market stuff with a box of polisterine. All ice and the box just walking distance to purchase.

Its a seasonal for the marine life. Sometime iou can see many cuttle fishes, or crabs, lobsters, mackerel, red snappers. And many many fishs. Please come early so you can choose more.

Just ask them a question, make sure we donr but any marine life that cought by using dangerous way or not a proper way. Like using towing net, using fish boms, using chemical like cynide, entering oil...

Nestled conveniently next to the picturesque Todak Waterfront, the wet market in Kota Kinabalu offers a vibrant array of fresh and local produce, making it a hub for locals seeking quality fruits, vegetables, and seafood. It's a bustling and lively marketplace where the aroma of freshly caught fish and ripe fruits fill the air, creating a vibrant atmosphere that captures the essence of local life.

The market is a treasure trove for those looking to immerse themselves in the local culture, as it showcases the region's abundant produce and seafood. For visitors eager to explore the authentic Sabah, this is the perfect spot to experience the region.

However, it's worth mentioning that the market can be a bit overwhelming and crowded, with locals going about their daily shopping. As a result, it may not be the ideal destination for tourists seeking a leisurely and relaxed experience.

One thing to keep in mind is that the market's unique charm comes with an intense scent, particularly from the fresh seafood section. While it adds to the market's authentic ambiance, it's worth being mindful of this aspect, as clothes may pick up the lingering aroma of fish.

For tourists seeking a more tranquil shopping experience, there are other markets and shopping districts in Kota Kinabalu that might better suit their preferences. Nevertheless, for those seeking an authentic glimpse into the local way of life, the wet market offers an exciting adventure, showcasing the vibrant soul of Kota Kinabalu's...

I had a wonderful experience visiting Kota Kinabalu Central Market, a must-visit spot if you want to immerse yourself in the local culture and flavors of Sabah. The market is vibrant, full of life, and offers an authentic glimpse into the daily lives of locals.

I started by exploring the kueh stalls, where I bought a few traditional Malaysian snacks. They were fresh, flavorful, and reminded me of homemade treats. There’s such a wide variety of choices — from sweet coconut-filled delights to savory bites — and they’re all very affordable.

I then walked through the fish market, which was an incredible experience. The sheer variety of freshly caught seafood was impressive — from large fish to prawns, squids, and even stingrays. You can really feel the connection to the sea, especially with the fishermen working just behind the market. The view of the boats docked along the waterfront was stunning and added to the overall charm of the visit.

The vegetable section was also full of fresh local produce — vibrant greens, tropical fruits, and ingredients you don’t always see in supermarkets.

Overall, the Kota Kinabalu Central Market is not just a place to shop — it’s an experience. Great for food lovers, photographers, and anyone who enjoys exploring...
