Stayed here for 5 nights. The room is small and basic but suited me travelling solo. The bed was comfortable although there was an obvious stain on the sheets when I arrived ( which was changed after 2 nights ). The air conditioning was cold ( although you have to turn on a switch on the wall before you switch on the A/C ). My room had a safe, a luggage rack, and one seat/stool. There was no fridge. Had kettle and cups and some sachets for ?coffee ( did not check ). TV had some English programmes. Window overlooking the street but cannot open the windows. The bathroom was small - the shower cubicle is not quite square and the door nearly touches the toilet when it opens. The shower head is removeable, which was a blessing, as it is so high and the shower so small that when turned on at a reasonable pace, it completely misses you and hits the glass behind. You have to have the pressure quite low to get it to fall on top of you, and you have to remember to hit the switch ( like the A/C ) to get hot water for the shower. When you open the shower door, water runs onto the floor. There were lots of power points near the bed. The rooms are cleaned daily. No water provided, but there is a water filter near the elevator. There is only 1 elevator but its only a small hotel and I never had to wait more than about 30 seconds. There is nowhere to hang clothes, other than a rack with 3 hooks on the wall. No hangers. No shelves. ||The location is close to things, can walk to the waterfront, close to food outlets and shopping malls. Money changers in shopping centre 200m away. Some tours can be booked through front desk - did one to Mari Mari cultural village which was very enjoyable. Staff are friendly and helpful. They call taxi driver Peter, who is reliable and always on time and will take you to the airport for 30RM ( or 40 after midnight or early morning ). He even picked me up after a Sandakan day trip which was great.||The walls are a bit thin - could hear someone next door snoring and the cleaner in the other room during the day. This may be an issue for light sleepers if you have noisy neighbours. ||Overall, for the price I paid, thought it was reasonable...
Read moreYear 2019, Little cosy hotel, although located among the shop lots, but acceptable. No parking space available on site but there’s public parking around, try your luck. They need card to access into the hotel lobby from 9pm to 7am, card access in the lift to your floor too, feels secured. Plus point. Hyatt regency was just a few steps away. Nearby the hotel was sea monster, upper star, even Burger King and KFC. Or if you fancy about durian, just walk to the other end of the shop lots that under the skybridge. One thing that annoying me was the red light right over the bed, maybe some sort of emergency light?
Update 5 years later year 2024: Pro - Super cold aircond Hot and strong shower Lift yes lift instead of stairs only Card access to enter the lobby and up to the floor that you stay, at all day. Good respond staffs. Good for short stay only.
Cons - Toilet cleanliness needs to improve especially the shower door and the amenities (moss and water stain was not at an acceptable level!) No sound proof at all if you concern. TV with limited channel and not clear at all. Please consider upgrade it and add on something like Netflix etc.
Overall cleanliness in the room needs to be improve! Room 102, 103, 104, 302, 303, 304.
I might not consider to come back next time anymore, quite disappointed this time as it start to get old and dated without proper cleanliness and not so...

Cons: Not so soundproof. Room is tight, not spacious. No fridge for you as this is budget hotel. Bathroom is decent, not sparkling clean. Shower hose piping could get very hot if you turn on the hot water feature (look out the metal T junction before the tap) could burn your hand. Towel is hard although it absorbs well.
