Upperstar Cafe & Bar Segama — Restaurant in Borneo

Felt like we were dining in KFC or McD. They charged us for service charge but we were not given any service other than being given our food. From the moment we sat down, I had to get the menu, the cutleries and even the chili sauce for my table. My dad ordered a sirloin steak and the waiter did not clarify with my dad how he would like his steak done. The waiter did not even ask what type of sauce he would like to go with his steak. It was the same also for my grilled chicken. The waiter did not ask what kind of sauce I wanted. We were not picky with our sauces but since we have been to other Upperstars, we always had waiters/waitressess reminding us what kind of sauce we wanted with our meat. The potato salad that came with our meal was also tasteless. Since it is in the RMCO period where hygiene is supposed to be an utmost priority, the staff were not even using their face mask properly. Their face mask only covered their mouths and not their noses. Definitely not a very positive experience...

Visited Upperstar Cafe after reading about their cheap beer prices and was not disappointed, 4 cans of Heineken for rm28 or 4 bottles for rm32. 4 cans of skol was a mere rm24 also.

Spirits/cocktails ranged from rm10 to around rm18 which was also very reasonable considering the alcohol prices in the rest of Malaysia that we had visited. It was only a few extra ringitt than buying 4 cans from the shop whilst sitting in a social atmosphere!!

We didn't try the food whilst there but a lot of people were eating and it looked OK but had dinner elsewhere. The prices again very reasonable being able to get a meal from around rm12 and a steak with chips n salad for about rm25 which is definitely not usually the case in this part idle the...

Today I went to this Upper Star in town. I was more happier with my experience their. The service their was good. They were attentive to my order and got the order right. I ordered 5 different meals and mostly what we ate was good. The only bit that wasn't quite right was in the Nasi Lemark King where the curried chicken was way over cooked and the rice was dry and clumpy. The rest was much better and better than some of the other Upper Star restaurants. I will come back to this store again.
