⚠️ Restaurant Scam Alert in Todak Waterfront Hawker Center: ANJUNG QASEH ADINDA ⚠️
If you're thinking about going there, it's worth reconsidering. I strongly advise looking for a different and trustworthy place to eat.
As a Malaysian traveler exploring my own country, I relied on my instincts and took every possible measure: ensured the weighing scale was reset to zero, closely observed the seafood weighing process, asked for the price per 100 grams, and even calculated the cost on my own. Unfortunately, they had a well-devised plan to scam people.
During my visit, I carefully selected my seafood, asked about the price, watched them weighing it, and did did the math independently. At first, a lady in pink told me it would be RM 60 for one of my seafoods dish, including cooking (while she were weighing).
But after we finished eating and went to pay, I peek a glance at handwritten note at the cashier's desk and realized that RM 90 for one of the seafood items from the list. I was confused, so I questioned the cashier because none of the seafood I had chosen was priced at RM 90. She claimed she was just following what the lady who weighed the seafood had written. So, I asked her to double-check with the lady in pink who weighed my seafood, and that lady confidently said it was indeed RM 90. She even brought in another colleague who wasn't there during the weighing to back up her claim. I am sure I didn't misunderstand or misheard because I had asked her to repeat the price during the weighing process. And at that time, I was the only customer she had. So, there's no possibility that she mixed up my order with someone else's.
Even though the relatively small RM 30 difference, I was greatly disappointed by the seller's dishonest behavior, exploiting customers and resorting to outright deceit. It's unfortunate that there's no solid evidence since all communication was verbal, without any written receipts or documentation provided.
I've already reported this incident to KPDNKK, hoping they will take action to prevent similar scams from happening to others in the future.
Additionally, the quality of the food was FAR from worthwhile and it was not tasty. Despite their claims of affordable seafood prices, you ultimately end up paying more due to the scam, along with receiving unsatisfactory dishes. Without me complaining other thing such as large rats in the...

Offering RM18/100 gram while others only RM13/100 gram for lobster. I asked if she was up selling, tries to cover up by saying other shops prices do not include cooking fee. She then agreed to give me RM15/100 gram instead.
I decided to proceed with the shop as my wife started nagging about me being indecisive. My wife wanted to try some scallop, and the lady was offering RM20 for 1kg. I requested for 500gram instead, simple math would be RM10. When I was paying for the food, it struck me as a little strange as the cashier was charging me RM20. I asked the cashier how much it is per kg, and she says RM30. If half a kg, wouldn't it be only RM15? Then the first lady that was telling me RM20 per kg, came up and says it is RM40 per kg, not RM20.
I had asked for salted egg squid, but I got butter cream instead. Before that, I was asking if she could do garlic butter, she says it is not possible. She could only do butter cream. Haha
Apple juice was too dilute and sugary. It was 9 Freaking Ringgit. Outrageous.
It is not the matter of the price, I don't mind paying more but please be honest with...
