I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews displayed on your app, but my experience was far from what I expected. Upon arriving at the hotel, I immediately felt uncomfortable due to the unhygienic condition of the premises. The hotel corridor was poorly maintained, and the lobby was even worse. The reception area had leftover food, and there were ants and cockroaches visible in the lobby. Additionally, the person at the reception seemed unprofessional and intoxicated, which further heightened my discomfort. When I received the key to my room and entered, I was utterly dismayed. The room was in terrible condition. The towels were clearly used, the washroom was unclean and emitted an unpleasant odor, the ceiling was leaking, and the air conditioning was non-functional. The state of the room was so off-putting that I left within a minute of checking in, as I could not imagine staying there. I have already initiated a refund request and have been following up for the past three days. Given the appalling state of the hotel and the misleading reviews on your platform, I urge Agoda to expedite my refund process and ensure that such listings reflect the reality of the accommodations to protect future customers.

An unpleasant living experience at The Chambers when stayed there early 2024. Upon arrival, I didn’t know there was no lift access hence have to carry my own luggage up to the top floor and till the last room. When open the room, it was a shocking experience that they have big holes on the ceiling near the bed and outside the bathroom’s door. The picture shown on website was completely different to the real experience. When complaining to the receptionist, she said there was no free room and can’t change the room. However, when I walked passed another room it shown a vacant room. The receptionist asked me to leave my room keys with her and she will use some A4 papers to just cover the ceiling holes!!! Due to safety concern, I didn’t leave my room keys with the receptionist. And they took a deposit but don’t have enough change for cash. I had to asked for few times for the change. Their bedsheets were full of human hair and yellow stain on the bedsheets. Definitely not recommend to anyone who travel to Penang. It’s a very ‘unforgettable’ experience.

Why is this hotel got a 4 star hotel? I have no idea. Our rooms was a deluxe suit. Well…nothing deluxe about this room lol. We almost got electrocuted because look at the iron yourself. I even asked for a new iron and they said they don’t have extra, every guest already took it. You’re a hotel and you don’t have any extras iron? No backups??? Sumpah not a hotel. Literally like a hotel budget that’s worth only RM50. A 4 start hotel won’t give you this type of service. And the blankets???? I can literally die of hypothermia because of how thin this freaking blanket is. And the lights??? Ohmygod. The lights doesn’t even work and it got mold???? A 4 start hotel…? Really…? Not worth the stay. Wish this was cheaper cause RM152 for this type of stay? A budget hotel got better rooms.

If I were you, I would avoid... The hotel is nicely located opposite a park but the front road is quite busy so not great for light sleepers. Also, not exactly in the heart of the town. The rooms are very nice, given the colonial style but everything is super worn, from furniture to tiles, towels & linen. I personally did not mind but if you’re into more lavish things, it’s a no go.. However, what was truly annoying is the service and overall experience. I arrived late as my visit to Georgetown was a last-minute decision, I asked whether there was a room available for two nights. The receptionist requested a passport and amount of money and that was it, I checked in. Then next day, I wake up by loud bangs on my door yelling “room service”, I opened all puzzled and was told by a different employee that it was past the check-out time so I immediately had to leave the room and pay (!). I explained that I had the room for 2 nights and that his colleague had already collected the payment upon check-in but he told me what I paid was only the city tax (what?) and I had to pay the rest, cash only of course, and was charged late check out (!). His explanation for all this mess was that the other receptionist does not speak good english. Mistakes can happen but how they’re handled is what makes a difference. As it was not the customer’s fault, we could equally assume responsibility -maybe at least waive the late check out fee as a gesture for an apology- but oh no, I was basically kicked out for a mistake that was not mine :) With that many lovely accommodation options in Georgetown, I would not be surprised if they go out of...

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with how horrible this place was. I booked this hotel because it looked decent online, but my experience was an absolute disaster from start to finish, despite its central location. I stayed here (with family) for two days and booked my stay through Agoda.

First off, they advertise tea included with your booking. Well, guess what? No tea! I asked at the front desk, and they just shrugged it off as if it was no big deal. It’s not like I’m asking for a five-course meal; I just wanted a cup of tea as promised. So frustrating! And don't even get me started on the used soaps they provided. Who in their right mind would think that’s acceptable? The soap was literally half-used and disgusting, like they didn’t even bother to check it before putting it in the bathroom. Super unhygienic and completely unacceptable.

Another thing is that the bed was a total disaster. I’ve never slept on something so uncomfortable in my life. The mattress was either broken or just ridiculously old, the springs were poking through, and I woke up with back pain that lasted for days. I’ve had better sleep on a park bench.

To top it all off, the room was dusty, the staff was unhelpful, and nothing about this stay made me feel even remotely comfortable. I’m genuinely shocked this place is still in business. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here. This hotel is a complete scam, and I wouldn’t wish it on my...
