Went to casa del rio in meleka a few years ago from 120622 with 3 other. The organisation that one of us work at have an exclusive discounted price at here. In my opinion, this hotel is one of the best accommodation among the many budget and discounted accommodations that I stay in till today. The place is located beside the meleka river and close proximity to many interesting places. Stayed at this hotel 2 times before

Almost everything was great and amzing about the hotel. Except the 1st time I went there, few seconds after I left the hotel, I almost broke my leg because the hotel surroundings path is not properly built and the hotel really only care about the maintenance of their plot of land. The road and pavement is about the height of a baby. And the water drain's metal grills have big gaps in between them. I did not realised this the first time I went there. Luckily it was just a sprain and I had to travel around with a sprain ankle on my 1st trip

For the free welcome dessert or lemongrass crush ice, I really love it and my family and I kept asking for extras everyday. The staff was telling us that they are not supposed to give guests more than one so we just ask for the dessert 1 time per person per day. The breakfast was very resonable and amazing. The breakfast place at the time have a showcase of a large honey comb and a view of the meleka river.

There is a swimming pool at the rooftop which is not really that amazing and not very well maintained but have pretty great views of the surrounding area. There is also a bar counter built into the pool. We were quite happy to be able to swim in the pool provided

Lobby is open air and cosy. Lift is also open air. The rooms are great with a small balcony. Very neat and tidy. The small library and the gym provided is very cosy also but we never use it much

In the night, we went to a ground floor food place that was part of the hotel. There are people playing live music and singing at there. The ambience is really amazing and I love it. We did not spend anything and can sit at there as long as we want

Overall, the hotel is good and not that expensive at that time. We no longer have the exclusive discount anymore. Will come back if I have the chance to do...

Splendid stay, felt so rejuvenated from it!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ali who checked us in at a patio and offered us welcome drinks and cold mint-scented towels. Impeccable service, speedy and friendly check-in. Started off the stay amazing.

During our stay, Putra our housekeeper kept our rooms clean and neat which was very heart-warming whenever she come back to our rooms at the end of the day. Even on days when we had the DND sign on, the Putra was on his/her toes and made sure to service our room once we had DND switched off and left the room. Sweet touch when we came back surprised by a clean and tidy room again.

Throughout the entire stay, all staffs were very friendly, always carrying their genuine smiles and offering help to us. The hotel also offer shuttle bus services to the Mega mall where many coaches are situated for the convenience of the guests (very thoughtful touch). Location was spectacular, situated a minute's walk from bustling Jonker tourist area. Quiet and peaceful yet at the ease of shops and food.

If I have to pick up any flaws, I'd say it's the outdated TV in the room. It's big but airing some channels which are outdated and of poor definition. I'd hope the hotel management upgrades all TV to smart TV with Netflix/Prime and screensharing properties. This will certainly improve our stay to the best ever as we were often restless once we come back not having any shows to watch on a big screen.

We also gave Satkara Spa a try on their signature spa. We had high expectations as it's really pricey. However we felt a little disappointed with the masseur's techniques. The service was really good, amenities were great too and very convenient with making a reservation and all. It's just lacking of skills especially when we paid 3x more than another better spa outside.

Nonetheless, thank you Casa del Rio, we really enjoyed our...

Stayed here for a day. Staffs are quite accomodating to my request to check in early. Parking is ok as I understand the security guards are doing their job of checking new cars in. Breakfast buffet is just a normal standard buffet, there's not much variety but I'm expecting better for a 5 star hotel.

Cons: I'm truly disappointed with the hotel's cleanliness. I found hair in the bathtub before I even bathed. There's nail clippings at the balcony that shows the housekeeper didn't do a great job. There are food left outside the rooms which attracts insects n birds. The hotel hallways are non aircon. The rooms aircon temperature are not adjustable. The tv channels are limited, no football epl channels. The music player in my room don't work. Most of the remotes in the room don't work either. The coffee machine drips pathetic amount for 1 cup of coffee. Rooms are not sound proof as we can hear other rooms doors banging. Wifi reception is good but there's a 3 devices limit for my room so once you had 3 devices you can't access the wifi anymore. Even though there's good connection speed, I wasn't able to use my laptop for work without wifi.

Pros: Location is very close to jonker walk. Just a few minutes away. Good if you're going for the night market on weekends. Bathtub is really big for one person, and it can fit 2. I can get off the bathtub easily. They provided bathsalts for bathtub. Water pressure for the standing showers is really strong, and heater works perfectly. Room is really spacious and nice view of the river and fireworks for new year. Staffs are friendly. Rooftop swimming pool has a very nice view. The bed is of good thickness and softness for me. Overall, its just an average...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at casa del Rio. It is located right next to Jonker Street where all the main attractions are. Having stayed in hotels like Hattan and doubletree hilton which are further out and had the problems of either walking to Jonker street in the baking heat or wasting time trying to get a grab or taxi and then stuck in traffic, I cannot emphasise how the location of this hotel is such a plus point. They have car parking included below the hotel with lots of spaces. Service of staff was perfect from check in to check out, both in the lobby and the restaurant. The rooms we had was great. It was big and clean, same for the bathroom. The bed was big and comfortable. There was separate large bath tub and shower. Included in the room were coffee machine, kettle with tea & coffee, complimentary snacks and soft drinks, large TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safe, fridge, toiletries, shower gel and shampoo. Our room had a balcony also overlooking the fountain in the lobby. WiFi was included and was good speed. They have gym and swimming pool on the rooftop. The gym is a bit small in my opinion, but that's OK, are you really planning to workout on a trip to Melaka? They have restaurants and bar downstairs on ground floor with great outdoor seating when it's not hot. Breakfast was awesome buffet with huge selection of food from local cuisine to western food. They will prepare eggs and noodle soup for you freshly on the spot. There is a definitely something for everyone no matter your taste or dietary requirements. I whole heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone considering.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Del Rio Melaka for our babymoon from September 21st to 23rd, 2024, in a Deluxe Lago room, and we loved the hotel so much that we extended our stay until the 24th! The hotel’s location by the river made for a peaceful and romantic atmosphere, while being just a short walk to Jonker Street allowed us to explore the area easily. Our Deluxe Lago room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered a calming view of the lagoon, which made our stay extra relaxing. The room was spotless, big bathtub, and everything was arranged perfectly for comfort. We'd like to give special thanks to Ali and Nana from the front office team, who provided such warm and personalized service. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Additionally, we'd like to extend our gratitude to Aidil (trainee) and Wayne from the F&B team, who made our breakfast sessions delightful. Their attentiveness and professionalism each morning made a great start to our day, and the teh tarik quickly became our favourite! The infinity pool overlooking the river was another highlight, providing a perfect place to unwind and take in the view. Overall, Casa Del Rio Melaka made our babymoon truly special. Extending our stay was the best decision, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

I saw there are some negative comments, all with the same reason: the hotel does not allow non-guests to use the restroom while waiting for a car back to Singapore. I'd like to speak up for the hotel here. We were also non-guests waiting for a coach back to Singapore. We arrived early, so we decided to have a beer and rest at the hotel café. The security guard outside the hotel asked us for the reason for entering, and I told him we wanted to enjoy drinks at the café. He politely welcomed us and directed us. The restaurant staff were also very polite and friendly. I want to emphasize that the hotel security is very responsible, ensuring the safety of the hotel and preventing too many people from loitering at the entrance. For security reasons, non-guests cannot wait or enter casually, which makes sense. Therefore, whether the hotel welcomes non-guests depends on the purpose of their visit. Next time, I will also consider staying here. And I believe that it's not the hotel allowing Coach to pick up guests here, but rather Coach choosing two historic hotels for the convenience of its guests. I believe the hotel and Coach company are two separate operating companies without any connection to each other.
