Pros :

  1. Location - walking distance to many attractions including A' Famosa, Jonker, shopping malls. Many eateries nearby
  2. Friendly and helpful receptionist and cleaner
  3. Cozy and clean (you are not allowed to wear shoes into the premise but is ok because it is clean)
  4. Actual room is as advertised
  5. Despite is budget room, they provide free simple breakfast i.e. Bread with few choices of spread

I really love my stay here but heres little cons that i hope the owner will take note to further enhance the value

  1. we stayed in a cozy queen room for 2 pax but pathetically there is only one power socket which is kinda inconvenient
  2. toilet sometimes can be quite wet. it is a lil disgusting to enter barefoot, but the shared slippers provided are also wet. So it is quite a struggle to use the toilet. Advisable for ppl that are mysophobia as i am, pls bring ur own home slipper. FYI, shared toilet/bathroom are unisex

Oh yaa, finding a parking can be challenging during daytime but at night, theres plenty. If u are parking between 9am - 6pm, pls display the parking coupons ( note: Melaka's police are very diligent in giving out summons)

Overall, we had a pleasant stay here. As the pros outweighed the cons, we will definitely come back...

-The first time I ended up in the hospital after staying in a hostel. I stayed in the room without air conditioning and ended up with a heatstroke and IV’s by the morning time. Spent the night pouring sweat and slept one hour max. I booked the room because of privacy but ended up not getting it because I had to sleep with the door open, and also other rooms with air conditioning did the same (the heat and lack of air flow was that horrible in the hostel) -The bathroom was always dirty as well and filled with ants -Even found ants on the walls of the room. -Woke up with a dozen of massive insect bites in the morning -The owner was nice in the beginning but everything was about money and could tell in the end he didn’t care about the comfort or safety of his guests. I was told the only solution was to pay triple the price if I wanted an air conditioning room -The “cheap” price is not worth it, I booked another hostel and left this place after going to the hospital and the new one was absolutely lovely. Please don’t stay here, there’s plenty of better...

I enjoyed staying at Lavender. I arrived having dislocated my shoulder a few days earlier and so my arm was in a sling. When I mentioned to the owners how much pain I was in they went to the trouble of adding another mattress and more pillows for me.||||The lady ?owner is expatriate and was able to give me advice about clinics, using grab etc. ||||They have put a lot of work into making the common area nice with tasteful Japanese themed decor, quality coffee, a range of seating options, good wifi.||||One plus point is that once you are in the room, they close the online booking so you can stay as long as you want and pay daily. Most places in Malacca will sell your room and ask you to leave. Also, there are long stay rates posted at reception and no tourist tax or dual pricing nonsense, everyone pays the same, regardless of race or religion.||||Overall this is a good choice. Thanks for my stay Harry and Maya;...

My worst stay in Malaysia in the last 2 months. As beautiful as Melaka is, it doesnt deserve to have accomodations like this one. The room was really dirty with dust everywhere. So when the Fan is on, there will be big dust particles everywhere. The matress is really old and uncomfortable. Its way too hot to sleep. The towel they provide is useless. Bathroom is wet all the time. No toilet paper inside. U can cleaely see that the owner (not the worker inside) doesnt care about the guests at all. He is just interested in the money he gets. I was so reliefed when i could leave that place for a better (and even cheaper place). Would not recommend this place at all if you want to have good memories about melaka. Fortunalty other places make up for that type of hosts.
