Menlyn Park Shopping Mall is undoubtedly one of the premier shopping destinations in Pretoria and easily one of the largest in the country. What makes it stand out is the balance it strikes between retail variety, dining options, and entertainment experiences. Whether youâre looking for fashion, lifestyle, electronics, or groceries, the mall has everything under one roof. From high-end international brands to local favorites, the range of stores caters to every type of shopper.
One of my favorite aspects of Menlyn is the atmosphere. The mall is modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, with wide walkways and stylish interiors that make it a pleasure to stroll through. The outdoor areas also add a fresh dimension, giving you the option of enjoying some open-air dining or simply a breather between shops.
Dining at Menlyn is another highlight. From quick takeaways to sit-down restaurants, thereâs something for every taste and budget. Whether youâre craving sushi, steak, pizza, or coffee and cake, the selection is extensive. Itâs particularly enjoyable on weekends when the atmosphere buzzes with energy.
Entertainment-wise, Menlyn Park goes above and beyond. With its large cinema complex, family-friendly play areas, and frequent events hosted within the mall, thereâs always something happening. It makes the venue not just a shopping destination but a full-day outing.
The only challenge can be the crowds, especially during peak hours, which sometimes makes parking a bit tricky despite the mallâs size. That said, once youâre inside, the experience is well worth it.
Overall, Menlyn Park Shopping Mall offers a world-class shopping experience with great variety, beautiful spaces, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back. Itâs a hub where shopping, dining, and entertainment come...
Read moreWhile the stores and restaurants within the mall are great, the mall itself is not. For being the second largest mall in the country, it sure is the most unorganized. The mall lacks adequate signage and makes it impossible for people that don't visit regularly to find their way around, maps (electronic ones included) are of no help either, a person unfamiliar with the place will take about an hour or more just to look for a specific company within the mall. The mall lacks security personnel, which is rather alarming, if anything happens to a person (which is possible as the mall allows beggars and other suspicious folks in) you will not be able to get help from security as they are very scarce. Parking lots aren't marked properly either, so if you visit the mall through an e-hailing service, you will struggle to leave the mall the same way. The mall needs to update their signage system and make it easier for people to find their way around. The mall also lacks crowd / cluster management, there doesn't seem to be enough space for people to move around in certain areas, especially the food court area. Other than all this, it's a very beautiful mall, it's a great leisure spot and has almost anything you need. Toilets do however need to be up kept more regularly, they're not very clean, for a mall that is "grand" it's not...
Read moreIt's big. Very. Walking between stores can take a while. The large airy walkways are quite pleasant however, and one seldomfeels crowded.. A good selection of shops and businesses, but the restaurant variety is not that great unless you are into fast food. Shops are definitely aimed at the more affluent members of society. My biggest bugbear is the parking. There is plenty of it, but the fact that there is no free parking, even on weekdays (unlike Brooklyn Mall a few kilometres away which offers 2 hours free Monday - Thursday) is annoying, especially when considering the amount of time one has to spend walking. That said, R10 for 0 - 4 hours is not exactly bank-breaking. Another parking-related issue is that whichever genius architect designed tge walkways between the mall and tje South parking garage clearly is not a shopper, as all the walkways slope, mostly upwards, and there is nowhere to park a trolley while paying for parking. Not clever. Bottom line, I don't go there unless I have to. Almost all stores I frequent have branches in malls with...
