I recently dined at Vitea Oceanfront Bistro located in Malecon. It's undeniably a tourist hotspot with somewhat elevated prices. Spending $80 USD on 3 cocktails, an appetizer, and 2 entrees might raise eyebrows, but the quality of the food was a redeeming factor. The service was truly exceptional, with our friendly and attentive server ensuring a delightful experience. We opted for margaritas during happy hour, benefiting from a 2-for-1 special, although the tequila's quality was not the best.

The appetizer, nachos, impressed with its generous portion size, leaving us unable to finish the entirety. The shrimp tacos were a standout, expertly seasoned and packed with flavor. Personally, I found them to be the highlight of our meal. Equally enjoyable were the Baja Fish Tacos, boasting a perfectly battered texture and topped with a delightful slaw.

The restaurant maintained a clean environment, extending to the restrooms as well. While the food and service were commendable, it's worth noting that the prices reflect the touristy nature of the spot. If you find yourself in the area, Vitea Oceanfront Bistro is worth a visit, but keep in mind the potential for...

Took an Uber from the motel to the art galleries in this area of the city; then walked the Malecon as a typical tourist. It was breakfast / lunch time and this restaurant was one on our list to try, and glad we did.

Very good service, food, coffee, and such with reasonable prices. The eggs were served with black refried beans, and avocado and were cooked to absolute perfection.

The location is right on the walkway and beach and surprisingly the area is free of flies and other annoying bugs which meant that outside dining was enjoyable.

There are two small bathrooms, the Senorita's to the left, the Senor's to the right.

The waiters like those in most of the area's restaurants will NOT bring you the check, until you finish the last drop of food or drink and put your plate, glass, or cup away from you. {I like that, hate it when waiters try to...

Hidden gem! Why have we not stopped here before?

We were on our walk on the Malecon and in search of a 2x1 Margarita and we saw Vitea. We must have passed this little gem so many times and never noticed it.

We looked at the menu and even though we had not anticipated eating a big meal,…we had to! Everything looked delicious.

We each had grilled fish tacos and I have to say, they are the BEST in Vallarta.

A clean, fresh approach to fish tacos with crisp fresh vegetables and carrot,…LOTS of snapper. They were incredible.

The fresh bread and cream cheese dip was pure heaven.

Mango margaritas also A+++.

Our server Nabor was wonderful. He was friendly, fast, very nice to talk to.

We enjoyed our meal immensely and the view is one of the most beautiful on the Malecon.

We recently moved to Vallarta full time, we will definitely...

Right in front of the ocean, a good place to watch the sunset. I ordered a banana daquiri which I really didn't like. Instead of being sweet as I expected, it tasted more like lime juice. Disappointing. Next I had an order of bruschetta with mozzarella and the portion was generous and delicious. Most of their dishes have a "small" and "large" size portion, priced accordingly. I ordered a "small" fish filet with shrimp in some sort of chile sauce and it was quite tasty and the portion was sufficient. My bill total with tip was $580 pesos (around $28 USD). My most expensive meal so far in PV, but not definitely not the best and a bit pricey to be honest. The seats are SUPER uncomfortable and I walked away with a major pain in my legs. I felt like I was crammed into a high chair.

Went there for the Christmas special dinner menu. My guest and I got the turkey with stuffing, vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy all over. My guess ordered the cream of pumpkin soup and I ordered the Vitea salad good sized shrimp and a lime dressing. Both the salad in the soup was very good. Included a bread basket with a cream cheese pepper spread for the bread which was very good. We ordered the apple strudel with ice cream and a traditional Mexican dessert and it was okay, not the German strudel I'm used to. I will return to try some of the other regular menu as they looked good.
