People are arrogant here, they won't give pickup any calls so better don't try ever to contact them on phone, one have to go once there to get any information correctly , just to oneself registered in embassy one should go before the embassy opens at 9:00 am and get a token (~50 in a day) , one have to be lucky to get one, then may be next day one can get the registration card ...
It's not something that can be recommended or not , one have no choice apart from following the rules and policies of the Embassy and one can't escape the suffering because of the working process of the Embassy. I have recently been here for registration and certificate for my driving licence. I will be giving the details of the process and later will suggest the changes that could be brought .
A. Registration : reach the Embassy in person at around 8:00 am , get a token for registration at entry gate , wait in waiting hall till 9:00 am , enter the waiting hall Infront of the working counters ( after the security checkup) , DO NOT CARRY ANY PENDRIVE OR HARDRIVE or else waste of time in depositing them , at around 9:30 am a lady will distribute forms ( better to bring the form filled before only) , then one can stand in queue to R counter , ( token number is for namesake) the goes the slow process of documents verification and acceptance , if the documents are accepted one gets another ticket for delivery of EMBASSY CERTIFICATE for next day at around 12:30pm .
documents required that is not mentioned on website: pan registration certificate of the employer for whom one is working electricity bill of your present residence with a letter from your house owner stating that u are staying there and house owners citizenship copy
suggestions: everything can be done online , all documents can be uploaded and a registration slip with all details can be downloaded and one can reach to Embassy to collect the CERTIFICATE or else can be sent by post ( to the residence or office where one is working) after payment for the postage .verification can be done by mail , mobile number otp registration .
for driving licence : again the same process till counter A: pay 1020 get a receipt and receive the certificate next day
suggestions for Embassy : now Indians voter ID , AADHAR CARD ,BANK ACCIUNTS PANCARD , DRIVING LICENCE ,MOBILE NUMBER , ALL ARE LINKED TO EACH OTHER , Its high time to provide online services to those who have access to Internet and don't want to waste...
Read moreMy Experience at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal to obtain NOC.
I had a different experience during my visit to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. Contrary to what some people say, I didn’t find the staff rude or impolite. They were professional, to the point, and guided us properly. While the process itself can be frustrating, it’s important to understand that these are rules set by the Indian government—and neither the embassy staff nor we can do much about that.
That said, I want to share the process here, hoping it saves someone else the hassle I went through.
NOC Requirement All Indian passport holders traveling from Nepal to any country other than India must obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Indian Embassy.
Documents Required Original Passport (plus photocopies of the first and last pages)
Copy of Flight Ticket
Copy of Valid Visa
Copy of the passport page showing latest immigration stamps
Two passport-size photographs
NPR 3100 (Exact change recommended)
Procedure Reach the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu by 10:00 AM (Monday to Friday).
At the entrance, you’ll be asked to keep only essential documents (originals and copies), money, and a pen/glue with you. Mobile phones, bags, etc., must be deposited in the locker.
Once inside, head to the NOC section. You’ll receive three forms to fill out. Carry your own pen and glue, as it saves time and stress—most people there are as frustrated as you might be.
After filling out the forms and attaching all required documents along with NPR 3100, submit everything at the counter.
You’ll receive a challan (receipt) for the payment.
Come back at 4:00 PM the same day to collect the NOC. It is essentially one of the three submitted forms, signed and stamped by the consular officer.
Note: You can do this process 1–2 days before travel or even on the same day if your flight is late at night.
This document is crucial for travel. Without it, you may be denied boarding—something I unfortunately experienced, leading to lost tickets and extra hotel costs.
I hope sharing this helps others avoid the same...
Read moreDear Indian Embassy I am not sure if this message will be read or any action will be taken but if anyone in authority reads this message, I would really like to request the officials to take some actions
When you enter Indian embassy, you never feel welcomed and it feels like they are there to literally torture you. Most of them are rude while talking and there are no proper rules and regulations when you enter inside. People are standing in cue without any idea, there is no single person or a help desk to sort your queries. When you ask them questions, they tell you to come in line and after you reach your turn, you find out that just because of some small issues or documents missing, the whole time is wasted
Secondly, the people there do not realize, that we as Indian citizens living in Nepal are also working, some of us have jobs, some of us have businesses and its really tiresome to go there again and again.
When I visited to get the certification letter, they called us at 4, when we reached there, all the people were waiting for the documents and the person came there at 4:50 and even after that he was talking to everyone rudely and like we say in Hindi (AISA LAGTA HAI KI WO HUMPE EHSAAN KAR RAHE HAI). Please understand we. are just there to get services from government of India to help us live in Nepal and do our work properly and the employees there are paid for those services A lot of services can go online for renew and basic necessity work which will make it hassle free
All the counters in consular wing are never full utilized and people have to wait in queue for hours. Compared to all other embassy in Nepal where their own country citizens are treated with love and given the best and quick service possible, we are lagging behind and even the people of Nepal who have work in our embassy use false language after they come out of the embassy as they are really frustrated
A BIG REQUEST TO THE AUTHORITIES TO TAKE SOME ACTION AND DO NOT LET ANYONE TO SPOIL THE IMAGE OF INDIA...
