Although December can be a chilly month to trek to Everest Base Camp, we were lucky to have clear skies and stunning views of the snow-capped mountains. The trail was peaceful, with fewer trekkers around, giving us the feeling of having the Himalayas all to ourselves. We trekked through the picturesque villages of Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep, each offering unique experiences and beautiful scenery.

The days at higher altitudes were cold, but we were well-prepared with the gear recommended by Nepal Himalayas Trekking. The weather was crisp, but the views were absolutely worth it. The highlight, of course, was reaching Everest Base Camp – standing there, looking up at the towering Khumbu Icefall and Everest herself, was a surreal and humbling experience.

Throughout the trek, we stayed in cozy teahouses with great hospitality. The meals were warm and hearty, perfect after a long day of walking. The menu offered a good mix of international and local foods, and we always felt satisfied after each meal.

Myself & friend have just completed trekking for 40 days in this beautiful country of Nepal. During this time our truly awesome guide Ashok Khanal ensured that our every need was met from arranging accommodation every day in comfortable tea houses, ordering and making sure we received the meals requested, providing briefings on the timing and route for the next days trek, managing our two porters, and ensuring our safety and well being at all times.

Ashok has an immense level of knowledge of the culture and traditions of Nepal, and the flora and fauna we encountered along the way. He was always happy to share his knowledge and answer the myriad of questions we always had!
