I was a part of a trekking team, heading to Mardi from Pokhara. This was my first ever trekking and to be completely honest, I am extremely glad that my collage trusted such experienced and humble people to guide my team and I for this memorable experience. As fun and exciting as it was, I can't miss out to say that at some points of the trekking, personally it was really hard for me to move on. It was to the point I thought of giving up and just return home without completing the trek. But thanks to my dear friends †and our dear guides, I was able to reach each and every destination †I am very very grateful to their support and encouragement! đ€ Apart from all this, I must say that our respected guide Resham Adhikari sir was a phenomenal supporter and company from the starting of the trek and till it's end đ I believe to be called a leader is easy, but to be one is a challenging job and he is an extremely great leader with not only just his skills and knowledge but also his honesty and passion towards his job. He was kind, friendly, humble, supportive and encouraging with a great sense of humour throughout the journey đ One who has been under his guidance will know, his honesty just shows in his eyes and the way he speaks. That is a sigh of a great man. He always prioritized us, students and our safety first before anything. Sir and his equally great assistant ate after everyone had eaten, slept in which ever room that was left in the end, carried our bags when it got hard for us to carry them, quenched our thirst first before having a single drop of water themselves and gave us stuffs before we could even ask for them and so much more. These might seem easy and normal things to do but it's not and it's honestly the small small gestures and acts of kindness that matters the most †Sir never left us behind hopeless, he never rushed us to anything and was always patient with us, whenever we had any problem he was always there first to help us, he tried every way except pushing us out of our limit to make sure everyone had reached the desired destination. Truly, my first ever trekking went extremely well because I was under the shelter of his diverse knowledge and covered with the warmth of his huge heart †I truly have no regrets đ I want say a huge huge thank you to everyone especially Resham sir for helping me add such beautiful memories and unforgettable experience in my life! đ I am truly grateful and thankful towards everyone who made this trekking possible and sucessful đ„ł I would love to be guided by sir again for my next trekking trip! â If anyone else is thinking about contacting him for their trekking, I highly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. There may be some difficulties but you will leave with great memories and no regrets in the end. Trust me, you will be in safe hands †Just like how each and every person in my team was for our...

He took the time to understand our preferences and fitness levels, providing tailored advice that made the booking process smooth and stress-free. He was prompt in responding to our queries, offering insights about the trek, necessary gear, and travel logistics. This attention to detail instilled confidence in us, knowing that we were in capable hands.
The Trek Experience Guides and Porters Our guide, Bishnu, was a treasure trove of knowledge about the region. His passion for the mountains was infectious, and he shared fascinating stories about the culture, flora, and fauna of the Annapurna region. Bishnu's expertise was evident in his navigation skills and ability to adapt our itinerary based on weather conditions and our group's pace. He encouraged us during challenging stretches and ensured we remained hydrated and well-fed.
Our porters, Govind and Krishna, were equally remarkable. Their strength and resilience allowed us to focus on enjoying the scenery rather than worrying about our heavy packs.    Read moreTrip Experience: Pokhara Barahi Ghat to Stupa Hike
Starting my journey from Barahi Ghat, the heart of Pokhara's vibrant lakeside, I was greeted with the sight of serene waters and the surrounding Annapurna mountain range. Barahi Ghat, located on the banks of the famous Phewa Lake, was already buzzing with activity as tourists, pilgrims, and locals moved about, either headed toward the Tal Barahi Temple or enjoying boat rides on the lake.
Taking a boat across the lake toward the trailhead at the other side was a peaceful beginning. Gliding over the gentle waves of Phewa Lake, I could see colorful reflections of boats, the greenery of the lakeside, and the white peaks of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna behind. The boat ride gave me a few minutes to absorb the beauty of Pokhara and mentally prepare for the climb to the World Peace Pagoda, commonly known as the Shanti Stupa.
Once across the lake, the hike began. The trail leading up to the stupa is relatively well-maintained, with stone steps and shaded paths lined with lush trees, ferns, and occasional glimpses of local wildlife. The hike up was moderate, with some steep sections, but the atmosphere was lively as other hikers, both Nepali and international, encouraged each other along the way.
Along the trail, I stopped a few times to catch my breath and ake in the views. From various vantage points, I could see Phewa Lake glistening below, the sprawling city of Pokhara, and the towering snow-capped mountains. The panoramic vistas kept me motivated, and after about an hour and a half of hiking, I finally reached the stupa.
The World Peace Pagoda itself is a sight to beholdâa gleaming white structure with a golden spire, symbolizing peace and unity. At the stupa, there was a calming silence despite the presence of other visitors. The view from the top was mesmerizing, with a full view of Phewa Lake, Pokhara Valley, and the Annapurna range in the background. I spent some time just sitting there, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and the profound message of the stupa.
After taking in the views, I started my descent, feeling refreshed and content. The hike from Barahi Ghat to the World Peace Pagoda was an incredible experience, combining the beauty of Pokharaâs natural landscapes with the spiritual essence of the stupa. This trip gave me a sense of calm and a deeper appreciation for Nepal's cultural and natural...
