Trek to Manang - Many thanks to Bijay Rai for organizing our trek and to our guide Kaji Rai and our porter Milan. We were able to make all our arrangements with Bijay via email and he was very helpful in answering all our questions. We found him to be thoroughly reliable and he took the trouble to meet us at the airport. In addition to being an experienced mountain guide, Kaji was incredibly knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects from geography to botany and from anthropology to history. Chatting to Kaji on trek and in the evenings we learned far more about our surroundings than we would have otherwise. We had planned to trek over Thorong La to Jomsom and fly back. Early in the trek it became clear that the weather was far worse than normal for the time of year and as we progressed we got conflicting reports about conditions ahead. After sitting it out in Manang for a few days we decided that it was too dangerous to cross the pass. By this stage we had grown to trust Kaji’s advice (unlike that of some of the other guides we encountered!). Rather than trek back exactly the same way, Kaji suggested that we take a detour for a homestay visit. It was lovely to get off the busy trekking route and staying with a local family and eating with them in their kitchen turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks to the knowledge, friendliness, professionalism and good humor of Kaji and Milan we had an excellent trek and we would recommend Beauty Nepal Adventures to anyone.

Khopra / Mardi Himal Trek

This was my second trip organised by Bijay Rai of Beauty Nepal Adventure and as before I was very happy with the all the arrangements and I would definitely recommend Bijay’s services to anyone planning a trek in the Pokhara area. Bijay was always quick to respond to emails and supplied all the details I needed. I proposed a route incorporating Mohare Dhanda, Khopra Ridge and Mardi Himal and Bijay helped to confirm timings and made useful suggestions. He arranged a guide, two porters and jeeps. The guide Bijay arranged, Tara Rai, was excellent. Tara knew the route well, spoke good English and was very knowledgeable. Above all Tara is a really nice person, very friendly and extremely helpful and with a good sense of humour. The porters, Milan (with whom I’ve trekked before) and Asal, were also excellent, always friendly and cheerful. Due to illness we had to change our plans twice and on both occasions Tara was brilliant at suggesting alternative routes and sorting out alternative accommodation at short notice. He has a useful network of contacts everywhere ensuring good rooms and tasty food wherever we went. When I had to return to hospital in Pokhara, Bijay organised a jeep pickup from the trek and accompanied me to hospital. When we were ready to resume our trek Bijay and Tara met us at our hotel to discuss arrangements and Tara had already prepared two alternative written itineraries to choose from. Illness meant that things didn’t go to plan on this trip but Bijay and Tara really stepped up and made sure that we had the best possible time. I look forward to my next trip and using Beauty Nepal Adventure again...
