Local Sukuti Restaurant — Restaurant in Pokhara

Amazingly cheap but incredibly tasty homely food prepared by Aunty at a rooftop place. As appetizer, the bhatta sandheko was the perfect spicy, munchy, healthy all in one. We got ourselves the local sukuti with gravy, which was so uniquely tasty that I half considered asking for another plate even with the large amount of food we ordered. The pork tawa was also great, and it came with a dip and spices to mix. The daal bhaat was the final cherry on top, clearly showing the motherly touch a family-home restaurant can have. The daal bhaat had two veg side dishes with it, and she asked multiple times if we wanted refills. In search of a local restaurant, we happened upon this restaurant on Google maps. What a delightful surprise. The food was prepared fresh as you ordered so everything came out tasty. The man was friendly and helpful and explained what each meal was to us. The food was quite delicious. The lady who made the food came out and chatted with us a bit. The vibes were immaculate. There was even an underground old school type rap battle happening when we were there so we had entertainment as well. You’d have to walk up the stairs of the building to the second floor to find it (luckily a kind man took us when we asked for direction). Overall, everything from food to staff was incredible. I have no idea how this place is rated so highly. I've eaten at several local food places around Nepal so far, and this is by far the worst.

Stood over us as we were trying to decide what to eat, table cloth was stained, dusty and dirty.

The bottles of drink, had dirt clumps that we had to wipe off with face wipes.

The sukuti was tasteless, all you could taste was oil and fish?

The pork was also tasteless and had 99% fat.

The chicken set, I don't know how they found such a fat chicken, but there was essentially nothing but fat on the bones.

Overall it was horrible, and I hope nobody makes the same mistake as us by picking this as the first local restaurant they...
