Nishan Apartments and Home — Hotel in Pokhara

I ended up working & living in Pokhara for longer than expected so I needed to find an apartment ASAP in August as the hotels were becoming expensive and I wanted to cater for myself. I was very lucky that Nishan apartments and home had availability at the time. I got a spacious roof floor apartment and 3 months later I am still here!

I have absolutely no complaints so far and I can't see that I will have any in the future. The apartment is run by a Nepali family who are so polite and friendly and will go out of their way to help with absolutely anything.

As a travel writer I rely on the internet to update my travel blog and at one point last month the internet wasn't working so well - I pointed this out to the owner and within a week he had upgraded the speed of the wi-fi and moved the router!

The apartment itself is spacious enough and very westernised. Big comfortable beds, great cooking area and very clean bathrooms.

The view is also wonderful, my apartment looks down on to Pokhara city and just behind it I can see a full view of Lakeside and Fewa Lake.

The thing I love the most about the apartment is the peace and quiet. I am close enough to Lakeside but without the noise! All other guests are respectful of each other too which makes for a very comfortable environment. The hill you have to walk up to access the apartment has also kept me very fit!!! First of all I have to share that we booked this apartment because we wanted to stay in a quiet place for Christmas in an apartment where it's possible to create a Christmas meal.

Nishan and his family welcomed us with very warm hospitality. As we told him the story that we wanted to cook a Christmas meal he immediately offered us kitchen accessories which maybe are missing and recommended us supermarkets where we could find the right ingredients for a german Christmas meal.

The apartment is very near the lake (the main spot for backpackers) and you can reach all necessary stuff within a short walk. Before we thought we needed to rent a motorcycle to feel comfy here but everything is nearby. If you need to go to the town (for a local market or a big supermarket) you can take a bus for 30 Rupie which drives you everywhere you are there. We never waited longer than 5 min for a bus.

The apartment has a perfect kitchen and a big cosy bedroom. Nishan profided us a heater which was very enough to keep us warm in the nighttime. In the morning the sunshine is coming from two big windows after we opened the curtains.
