I considered a trekking guide to facilitate safe passage to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) for my family in winter. I had done this trek years ago and wasn't even sure if I'd even use a guide or just arrange for a porter in Nepal.

Online I came across a list of certified guides. After contacting a lot of them, Bhakti from Big Sky Treks was already a shining example of professionalism. His communication was prompt, honest and he was soon able to ascertain what we were looking for. His flexible approach meant that we could tailor the trek to our needs, allowing for the youngest member of our party being 12, also our wish to spend 2 nights at ABC.

I soon realised the advantages that using an experienced guide could bring. Compared to having to deal with everything myself whilst trekking, I could now relax and enjoy the experience.

We were travelling on a budget so decided to book Big Sky Treks from Pokhara to Pokhara, exploring Kathmandu by ourselves. Bhakti happened to be in Kathmandu wrapping up another trek, and went out of his way to catch up with us. From our first in person meeting, the bond was warm, honest and professional. He ensured the we we were suitably attired for the 11 days of trekking. All the necessary permits were arranged by Big Sky Treks who also seamlessly arranged our airport transfers and transport to the trail head. The vehicles used were well maintained and punctual. Our porter Mr Chumba has worked for Big Sky Treks for over 10 years. This alone says alot. He was well attired, hard working, compassionate, motivating and was always a pleasure to be around.

Bhakti's attention to detail along the way was unbelievable. He ensured that we were all, happy, healthy, well hydrated and well fed, verywell fed. He (and Mr Chumba) also waited on us, always ensuring that we were satisfied before eating themselves. Bhakti returned with second or even third generous helpings of dhal bhat. The tea houses chosen along the way were all clean and comfortable. Bhakti's relationships with the owners ensured that we were warmly welcomed and attentively accommodated. We were often allowed complimentary charging or WiFi, however this may not be possible in the peak season. In summary Bhakti surpassed every expectation we had. He made this trek, "the holiday of a lifetime!" Please don't take this comment lightly. I had travelled in Nepal before, throughout India, South East Asia, Europe and Australia. So it's not like I have nothing to compare it with. I don't normally give online reviews, but I do believe in shining a light on exceptional service and consumate professionalism. Please book Big Sky Treks for you next Himalayan adventure, wherever it may be. You won't be...

I went to the Annapurna Basecamp trekking with my brother Janaranjan and our trekking guide Bhakti Devkota. It was one of the best trekking I have ever done in my life. I live in US in North Carolina and lived in Washington before moving to North Carolina. I have hiked many trails in Washington including Mount rainier basecamp and other beautiful trails. But I have never been to place as majestic and mesmerizing as Annapurna basecamp.

Bhakti took care of everything from reserving the jeep to go from Pokhara airport to Jhinu. He also made some time to stop to the Trekking shop to get some trekking accessories for us. We did 3 day base camp hike so our schedule was very tight. Throughout our journey, Bhakti made sure we drank enough water, took beautiful pictures along the way and also keeping up with the pace to make sure we finish the trip in 3 days. With Bhakti on your side, you are always greeted with smile and utmost respect from the locals and the restaurants in various destinations. The first day we had our lunch in Chhomrong and went to spend the night in Bamboo. Second morning we woke up very early, had our breakfast and left Bamboo around 6:45 AM and walked straight to the Macchapuchre Base camp and reached around 1:15 PM. Then we had our lunch there and took a nap for 1 and half hours and reached Annapurna Basecamp around 5:00 PM. That day we didn't see any view so we were little disappointed.

The d-day, 3rd day of the trek completely changed our lives forever. Because of the altitude we couldn't sleep much longer. My brother woke up around 4:30 to go to restroom and was in awe when we saw the beautiful twinkling stars just above the beautiful Annapurna mountain range. Bhakti also woke up and we three went to enjoy the majestic view. We felt so lucky to be alive that day and witness the beauty of nature and it was only possible because of Bhakti.

I cannot thank Bhakti enough and highly recommend anyone looking for a great trekking guide to go with Bhakti. Bhakti is your friend, guide and very knowledge, humorous and respects you...

I recently embarked on the Everest Base Camp (EBC) expedition with Big Sky Trek in November 2024, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support and professionalism demonstrated by their team. This review is not just about the trek itself but also about the genuine care and effort they showed during a challenging time.

From the very beginning, the itinerary was well-structured, allowing us to acclimatize properly while enjoying the breathtaking scenery along the way. The food provided was delicious and varied, it kept our energy levels high throughout the journey.

However, what truly sets Big Sky Trek apart is their dedication to their clients' well-being. Unfortunately, I fell terribly ill during the trek and was unable to continue. Our tour guide went above and beyond to ensure I received the best possible care. They immediately contacted ground support to arrange a swift and safe evacuation, ensuring I was admitted to a medical facility without delay.

The porters were equally amazing, showing immense strength and kindness as they assisted in every way possible. Their hard work and dedication made a difficult situation much more manageable, and I will forever be grateful for their efforts.

Thanks to their prompt actions, I was able to recover quickly and continue my journey home safely. Despite the setback, I look back on this experience with immense gratitude and admiration for Big Sky Trek. Their professionalism, compassion, and commitment to their clients' safety and satisfaction are unparalleled.

I highly recommend Big Sky Trek to anyone considering an EBC expedition or any other trekking adventure. They are not just a tour company; they are a team of caring individuals who genuinely want their clients to have a memorable and safe experience. Thank you, Big Sky Trek, for everything you did for me. I will cherish the memories of this trip forever and hope to trek with you again...

I went with a group of friends and took the 13 days trek to Everest Base Camp with Big Sky Treks & Expeditions Pvt Ltd Nepal. Our guide was Bhakti Devkota, who took care of us every minute of the trip. This included making sure we had clean water, ordering all our meals, setting and enforcing our schedule, being prepared in case of an emergency (like altitude sickness and diarrhea) and even simpler things like having fruit sliced for us at the end of every dinner. I don't think we would have made it all the way to Base Camp without Bhakti's constant help and care. Our porter was amazing too, literally lifting a huge weight off our shoulders like it was nothing! The trek itself is beautiful, but it can be very demanding if you have little trekking experience. We followed Big Sky Treks & Expeditions Pvt Ltd Nepal’s and Bhakti's equipment guidelines to the letter. Accommodations were very good for the trek and the season. Big thanks to Big Sky Treks & Expeditions Pvt Ltd Nepal for all their help before, during and after the trip. Special thanks to our guide Bhakti Devkota and our porter, who always went the extra mile especially during the trekking period when I was having diarrhea and was vomiting, they take care of me and I felt safe and well looked after. Once again thank you to our guide, Bhakti that made this such an enjoyable adventure.
