Westfield Manukau is the main shopping destination in South Auckland, serving the local community with a practical mix of retail, dining, and recreational options. While it covers a decent footprint with around 167 stores, it feels relatively small and a bit dated compared to Auckland’s larger and more modern malls like Sylvia Park or Westfield Newmarket. The mall hasn’t seen major redevelopment since 2007, and it shows—many areas are in need of a refresh to keep up with changing retail trends. Still, it covers the essentials well, with anchor stores like Farmers, JB Hi-Fi, The Warehouse, and a Woolworths (formerly Countdown) providing a solid grocery and retail offering. The food court includes over 30 outlets, featuring a variety of cuisines alongside big-name chains like McDonald’s, Burger King, and Starbucks, making it easy to grab a bite while shopping. Entertainment options like Event Cinemas and a kids’ play area help keep families entertained, while amenities like parents’ rooms and Kiddie Kruzzers make it a family-friendly spot. Parking is a strong point, with over 2,100 spaces available, and the mall is well connected by public transport, located close to the Manukau Bus Station and train services. While Westfield Manukau may not offer the flashiest experience, it remains a reliable and accessible choice for locals—though a long-overdue revamp would go a long way in revitalizing its appeal.

Had a bad experience with Edge this afternoon with the manager trying to expose me in front of customers. Wheres the customer privacy??? Took 3 staff to speak in their language in front of other customers to come up with the decision not to offer me their services which is understandable which I also agree but to do it all in front of others is unprofessional. Tues their laybuy system failed and he alowed me to pay 30 a week same as laybuy till paid of based on trust and a regular customer which was fine come back Saturday same week 4 days later for another wash coz hair was constantly itchy and he asked me for the rest of the payment or can't offer the services. If I wasnt gona pay it why would I return to the same shop don't make sense. I refused to pay today because our business was not private and in front of others. Didn't end well today.. Tried raising his voice they al speak their language in front of customers rude.

love this mall. down fall is the play area for the kids. I have two littles and after being at the mall shopping and having lunch you want to take your littles to have their time to run around. my goodness the play area is not that great. Its barely a playground, no proper slide tho its new. The person who designed it probably didnt bother. I notice sylvia and botany malls, plus northshore malls O see online they have nice indoor playground but come to southside its like they don't bother with the inside playground. The super center playground is also just a simple play area compare to other areas of auckland. this picture is the play area in the mall, like is this meant to be a slide? it doesnt do much. my kids were not entertained for long. BORING

Wow! I went here today after 3 years and so much has changed. It looks amazing! The store has variety of shops to shop at and its nice and clean. There are plenty of parking spots and different entrances to enter the mall which is great. The staff at the custer service area are very helpful and friendly. The mall also puts on great activities for children during the school holidays. They have a great food court with variety of food stores to choose from , I highly recommend the Indian food place, there butter chicken is delicious with so much flavour. Clean seating areas and the cleaners are consistant with keeping the area clean.

Clean and secure mall. Lots of parking & 120-240 mins free, wheelchair accessible entrances and bathrooms. Southside represent was held here too & was an amazing event. Shout out MaiFM who helped host!
