Float Culture — Attraction in Albert-Eden

It started off badly, the lady at the front desk wasn’t welcoming at all, and no one explained anything to me before the massage.

When I went to prepare, I noticed that a large part of the leather massage bed was ripped open, with the sponge underneath exposed. They still asked me to lie down there, and the area wasn’t even covered with a towel, so I had to find one myself to cover it.

I had booked a hot stone massage through ClassPass, but there were no stones used at all during the session. I thought maybe it would happen at the end, but it never did.

When I asked about it afterward, the same lady simply said it must be ClassPass’s mistake and that they don’t even provide hot stone massages. She didn’t bother to check my booking or apologize, instead, she rushed out to her car to leave.

On top of that, the masseuse’s nails were extremely long and kept scratching my skin throughout the entire session. It was far from relaxing, it honestly felt more like torture than a massage.

I really wanted to rate this experience 5 stars as I have floated other places in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner & I booked in for 8pm on Saturday night (last float of the day). Booking was easy and the service was friendly enough. Unfortunately the room itself was not clean. There was long black hairs left all over and around the shower floor and the toilet was left dirty from presumably the person before me (I won't go into describing what I saw as it wasn't pleasant) .

For $110pp I expected the room to be cleaner than this. There was at least a clean bath mat - I stood on this like it was a lifeboat, wishing I had brought my slip ons so my feet didn't have to touch the floor! The float itself was dampened by this experience of the room being unclean and a smell in the air I couldn't quite put my finger on. Was actually a powerful experience. I became aware of EVERY tight muscle, or irritable internal organ. I think I may have gained some control of things I don't normally, and improved my health. In addition, the day afterward my back has stopped aching. I did have some clear thought too, drawing on my intuition. Even had a brief visual flash. It's like floating in space, and also like just before you fall asleep. Staff were lovely, and the space is calming with nice moisturizers and stuff to use afterwards. Just use that vaseline, if you have irritable skin in any areas it will sting. Don't expect LSD or dreaming, expect more something like a deep, almost sleep that relaxes the body and the senses, and allows you to be creative/intuitive.
