My visit to the Christchurch Botanical Garden was truly enchanting. It was a beautiful day, and I enjoyed seeing all the vibrant spring blooms. Very nice, well kept gardens, thoroughly enjoyed walking round. You feel relaxed just by looking at the colours, the displays and serenity of the whole gardens. Beautiful grounds. Plenty to walk around and see, and so many prime spots to sit and have a picnic! We spent several hours walking the paths and seeing the foliage. There are also some plant walls placed here and there which provide a cute photo opportunity for those who like that kind of thing. Very much worth a visit. 😍 Amazing place! Just a little sneak peek of what you can find. I did not want to ruin it for you guys. Christchurch Botanic Garden is an absolute gem in the heart of the city! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting this serene oasis, and it exceeded all my expectations. The garden's beauty is unmatched, with a vast collection of plants and flowers that will delight any nature lover. 🌿🌺 The diverse range of themed gardens, including the Rose Garden and the Water Garden, offers a delightful experience for every season. The carefully manicured landscapes, stunning floral displays, and tranquil water features create a sense of peace and tranquility. 🌷💧 One of the highlights for me was the Avon River, which gently winds its way through the garden. You can even take a punt ride for a unique perspective of the surroundings. 🚣♂️ The garden's free entry is a bonus, making it accessible to all. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or simply finding a quiet corner to relax and escape the city's hustle and bustle. 🧺🌞 Overall, Christchurch Botanic Garden is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you're a botany enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, this place has something for everyone. 📸🌲 I couldn't recommend it more highly, and I can't wait to return to witness its beauty in different seasons. Don't miss out on this green paradise in the heart of Christchurch!" 🌳💚

This is a must visit in Christchurch. Looking at the map, this city has many green areas. The botanical garden and surrounding parks are real gems. They are very clean, well maintained and beautiful. Staying here, I can see often come walking, running or just enjoying the beauty. The surrounding park area allows dogs and sports, but the garden itself only allows walking and people to enter. You will see countless species of birds. The garden is divided into different areas, there is ample parking near the visitor center, and there is also a cafe and gift shop in the visitor center. There is also an ice cream stand near the children ’s water park, which is only open in hot weather. It is worth a visit at any time of the year and it is cold when we do this. I like the greenhouse. There are different areas of tropical, desert and flower plants in the greenhouse. They will die outside. Be sure to go upstairs, and really feel like you are in a dense forest. Outside is a rose garden with a topiary garden. My favorite is the souvenir. Before the introduction of other islands, all the plants that live on these islands. It feels prehistoric and quiet.

Not without a reason this city is called Garden City. Regardless of the time of they year and if you are a local or visiting tourist - Botanic Gardens never disappoint. It’s one of the most beautiful gardens in New Zealand. Plenty of walkways to explore amazing collections of flowers, bushes and some of the oldest trees in the country. Walkways by the river are especially rewarding and calming with the water. There are some “hidden” houses offering some indoor plants and tropical flora, rose garden is especially beautiful during blooming time in spring, but so is everything else. Autumn colours have it’s unique charm too. Something for everyone, families, couples and groups. For parents with kids there is dedicated playground area. Parking places are quite limited but there are some surrounding streets around Harley Park where you can always find a spot.

We had some spare time so we strolled around the botanic gardens. Entry is free, we have paid to see gardens not as good, There is a good cafe plus walking and shuttle (paid) tours. Get a free map, they highlight different areas according to the season. The conservatories, with various sections including tropical rain forest and desert cacti, was really good. There is a large rose garden (where the dahlia border is on the late summer map) and other sections displaying different vegetation. There are ponds and a play area and it is all set in a large horseshoe of a shallow river, where you may see a punt go by. There is car parking close by, along with many sports pitches and more lakes. There is a suggested 30 min walk. We spent a couple of hours, would have spent longer if we weren't off to the airport, enjoying the tranquility.
