There was an array of things to see along the outdoor riverside lanes to the indoor riverside market. From the wide selection of food, to baked goods, breweries to liquors and wines, local products to international goods, coffee to chocolates, you name it! A group of us quickly split up to things that piqued each of our interest. For me, I went into the She Chocolaterie because I could smell it from outside. It was chocolate heaven in there, the rich smell of chocolate and passion made me drunk in love. I did some window shopping in Nevada Cashel. I also bought some goodies for my friends and family from the riverside collectives to support the local! Then joined by friends at the Canterbury Brewer Collective on their creative beers selections. But what caught my interest the most was Curiosity Gin and the Mulled Wine from Mischief with Wine. I had a Gin flight, which was an experiential time on my taste buds! The Gins were each distinct to its taste, my favourite were Recipe #23 and Ruby (you have the option to add tonic to ruby, I recommend against it, it was best neat). The mulled wine from mischief was one of the best I’ve had and could easily be top 3 in my heart. Unlike the usual mulled wine we’ve had, the one at Mischief with Wine brings out the flavour of the wine which complimented the spices in the drink so well. For once, the citrusy flavours did not overpower the taste of the wine, which was what made it different from those that I’ve tasted. The day gone by quickly, I wish I could stay here longer.

My first New Zealand trip in Christchurch. We found out a good place for enjoying the food. Riverside Market. Riverside Market in Christchurch is an absolute gem that every food lover should visit. This bustling market is a place for those who appreciate a wide variety of culinary delights, with numerous food booths offering an impressive array of diverse foods. The atmosphere is fantastic—vibrant yet chill, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. During my visit, I was impressed by the sheer variety of food options available. Whether you’re in the mood for something exotic or a comforting classic, there’s something for everyone. This time, I opted for Greek and Malaysian food, and both were delightful. It was an enjoyable culinary journey that showcased the market’s commitment to quality and authenticity. As for the prices at Riverside Market, actually is a little bit high, with each meal costing around NZD 15. But It's rare to find such a diverse selection of foods so I think the price is reasonable. In conclusion, Riverside Market in Christchurch offers an exceptional dining experience with its diverse food offerings, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this market is a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious meal in a lively yet relaxed setting. I highly recommend visiting and exploring the various food booths—you’re sure to find something that tantalizes your taste buds.

This place is where you have to go if your visiting christchurch... it had some of the best variety of niche, organic, locally-produced products that you could ever wish for. One shop i would reccomend to try is the Cured meats shop located somewhere in the market (cant remeber where) it has a large selection of artisan cured meats that tastes incredible. You'll know it when you see it, it will have logs of salami and meat hanging off hooks from the ceiling of the store. There are a myriad of other places to go in that market aswell mind you, plenty of food stores and artisan style shops that will make your mouth water...and sometimes your eyes apparently, might've just been the lights though.... And then you step outside with your bag full of wonderfull things, including cured salami hopefully, and you see trams running along the middle of the narrow road.....not sure exactly what else to say about them to be honest. Also this market is located in close proximity to other shops aswell such as macpac, kathmandu etc... leading on a wild shopping spree and the bank debt to prove it. Highly Recommended.

What a cool place to visit in Christchurch. My partner and I flew to Chch last week from New Plymouth on an Air NZ Mystery weekend we were gifted. We were so excited to visit the Riverside Market to try all the tantilizing food choices on offer. The Pork Belly Ramen from Cluck Cluck Slurp was delicious. Probably the best Ramen I have ever eaten. We loved the whole concept of the markets and it reminded me so much of wandering around the markets in Freemantle in Australia. Such a cool vibe. We went back during the weekend to watch a game of Rugby at the Kaiser Brew Garden and really enjoyed the atmosphere there. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

I love it here! So much to choose from, something for everyone. Pure pulp have the best juice/smoothies around with great friendly staff. We had delicious pastries & croissants from the great pastry shop the apple crumble pastry is a MUST! Empire coffee do delicious coffees so like I said something for everyone. We tried some fries & food from shake bros which went down a treat. Others had ramen from a counter and falafel wrap/pittas there's a huge variety. There is some little tables scattered around on the ground floor in the market you might be lucky to grab and upstairs also alot of benches and seats outside the main doors.

I think I'm Riverside Market's number one fan. I moved away from Christchurch for 2 years to live in the Tron and I think Riverside Market was in my top 3 things I missed most. The atmosphere is buzzing, the decor is stunning (reminds me of Borough Market in London) and the food choices are amazing. Now I'm back in my beloved Christchurch, and I go to Riverside several times a week. The smells are so inticing. My fiancé loves Fritz Weiner and I love the Masala Dosas. Cluck Cluck is also amazing. And the Craft beer, and EVERYTHING about the place. A must do in Christchurch!
