Read moreLovely recreation of an Irish Pub with sports on the screens, old oak everything from the bar to the tables and booths and chairs. My husband and I went for lunch and got the lunch deal and the food was so good we went back for dinner as well. On tap beers and Guinness was great.
The fish and chips were crisp, perfectly cooked, and I asked to upgrade the chips for the duck fat potatoes for a fee. They were so worth it. The potatoes had a super crunchy crust, but were perfectly creamy and tender within.
For dinner we shared the pumpkin and beet salad and the Irish Stew. Both were fabulous. The autumn salad was hearty with sweet roast beets and tender pumpkin. The Irish Stew was rich with lamb, Guinness, and peas with a boat of hot buttery mashed potatoes smack in the middle. Lovely, heart fare.
The staff was wonderful and even remembered us from lunch! I was impressed by that. And best of all it wasn't that expensive, given what else is around here.
The lighting inside is very red and kind of dim , so sorry the photos...

After we sipped them once or twice a waitress came over and asked for passports from every person at the table (even if they weren't drinking). They also said that they would not take our food order until we showed them our passports. I ran back to the hotel and got every one of our passports, and when I got back they pretended we didn't exist. No matter how many times we flagged them down or made eye contact, they refused to even talk to us. Even when we decided to just leave, we went to the bar to try and pay for the drinks we got, but still they refused to acknowledge us. I guess we got three free drinks from them and that's cool, but why did they bother to seat us if they weren't going to serve us? And why bother having us take up space when they could have just kicked us out when we didn't have our passports? My guess is this place is...
