Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities — Attraction in Christchurch

I was there during their "Fantastic Feasts" exhibition.

The Museum is very small, but well kept and organized. It has a fairly good concentration of artifacts and decent descriptions to go with them. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The best thing about it is that the entrance fee is "by donation" and it's in a good location near to the Canturbury Meuseum and Cristchurch Botanical Gardens, so you can easily add a visit alongside other sightseeing in the area without any inconvenience.

A nice exhibition of antiquities. A single room, but well presented with objects and descriptions. They had a "treasure hunt" going on in the room too, which was surprising because the room isn't very large. They had placed 10 Lego minifigures around the room. Once you had found them all, you could enter to win a prize. A nice way to keep the less interested kids busy whilst others can take more time to explore the exhibit.

Good wheelchair accessibility. Toilets here were clean...

The Bellbird Hearing Team visited the Teece Museum as part of our Family Fun Day. The collection on display is small but absolutely beautiful. A great variety of pieces, with some dating back three millennia. It caters of a range of ages including games and interactive options for younger visitors. The staff were superb too. Depending on your level of interest you might spend between 15 minutes and 45 minutes here. A true treasure tucked away in Christchurch...
