Golden Star Motel — Hotel in Christchurch

I have given 5 stars to this motel for the service, cleanliness and amenities because each aspect of these beat my expectations! I am usually very conservative in giving reviews.Initially I was expecting very basic service given it is a motel. But when I opened the door of the room I was quite surprised. You could feel the room is very clean and bright. The amenities are sufficient to make a simple meal for yourself. There is also daily housekeeping services as well (given it is a motel).The staff at the reception are also very helpful. When I first arrived, the reception lady asked me where I planned to go and showed me the ways. The motel is also close (5-10 minutes walk) to the Main Street at Riccarton and there are a lot of restaurants there. You can also take bus to the city centre which takes about 30 minutes including waiting.The motel is also very close to the Christchurch railway station which is only 10 minutes walk, great if you are taking the scenic trains. Exceptional Service at Golden Star Motel - A Truly Memorable Stay

I had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Star Motel during my recent trip to Christchurch, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to Marco. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived quite late, but Marco was kind enough to wait for us to check in, making sure we felt welcome and taken care of despite the late hour.

He greeted us with a warm smile, offered us welcome drinks, and even provided milk so we could make coffee if we were tired after our long journey. It’s the little thoughtful touches that really set this place apart from the rest. The next morning, Marco offered us a healthy breakfast at a very reasonable price of $15 per person, which was a lovely way to start the day.

Marco’s hospitality and kindness made our stay special, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about his guests. If I ever find myself in Christchurch again, I’ll definitely be staying at the Golden Star Motel. Highly...

Very friendly & obliging owners. Brand new motel! Our room was a king downstairs room with a lovely sunny courtyard with outside seating. Very comfy bed. Great massage shower! The bathroom has everything. .heated towel rail..extraction fan & heater fan, so the room doesn't get really cold. Heated & lit mirror & fantastic hairdryer not fixed to the wall thank goodness! There's a cupboard for hanging clothes, side tables with drawers. Comfy seats & low table. A computer surface below the TV with seat. HDMI port to connect to TV. 1GB free WIFI. All kitchen equipment necessary to cook meals. Good extractor fan over hob. Small fridge & microwave. It has been really well thought out & provided a lovely ' quiet space' for us for 4days/5nights. Good parking close to units. Disability parking & units available. Easy driving to Hospital, the Horncastle Arena & to shops....
