I stayed in a one bedroom apartment in the North tower for 3 nights and had an overall okay experience. The main reason that I chose to stay here was because this was the only central hotel that I could find that had an in room washer and dryer, which I needed as I stood here right in the middle of a 3 week ANZ trip. Thus, I greatly appreciated the washer and dryer, but if I didn't need to use those, I would have stayed elsewhere. ||The room itself was clean, although it felt very... sterile. It lacked any sort of character or warmth. For it being "an apartment" with a small dining table, two couches, a tv, small kitchen, etc. it didn't feel homey or welcoming at all. I did have a balcony, but there was no chairs or tables to utilize it. ||The location was pretty central- about a 10 minute walk to the cable car and a 10 minute walk to Cuba street. There was a large grocery store about a 2 minute walk away. ||The hotel is located up a pretty decent hill. My cab driver dropped me off on the main street and I had to walk up the smaller side street to the hotel entrance. However, there was lots of time when I was sitting at the dining room table looking out the window and I noticed that other people had their taxi/rideshare drive up the little side street and drop them off directly at the front door. Thus, make sure your driver drives up the side street, as they can get you directly to the front door, as it would be difficult to walk up the hill with...
Read moreI decided to book Boulcott suites for one night while on a very hectic business trip.
The nightly charge was $337 well above other hotels but I wanted the kitchen and laundry facilities so I could have breakfast and wash my clothes after a few days away.
My room did not have a dryer- despite this being advertised. Which meant I was unable to do any washing.
The tv was tiny- 32 inch? And not located in the bedroom. It had poor signal and was impossible to watch anything so I resorted to tv on demand on my cellphone instead.
The bathroom and toilet was poorly located- close to the entry to the room but a long way from the bedroom- very inconvenient.
My bedroom wardrobe was missing the door and room was quite cold.
I stay in a lot of hotels.. and this is definitely not a 5 star facility. There is no gym - instead a subsidised entry to a third party gym $10 every casual entry.
The only positive was following a negative. The location is not great if you have a vehicle and parking is limited. The staff were good at seeing my distress and arranged for a car park even though I had not booked ahead.. I wasnât aware of needing to. The room was also quiet which I appreciated.
I wouldnât stay again- instead would book an actual hotel with on-site facilities like parking, gym and restaurant. Not good value for money at all...
Read moreWe stayed in a 2-bedroom suite for two nights but later extended for two extra nights as the apartment hotel was convenient for our stay. Prime location in the CBD Spacious, self-contained apartment with 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms Good service Bright, clean rooms with ocean view There were some minus points:
These issues were probably isolated only to our apartment (apartment 803)
Updated to previous review: we came back & this time stayed in a 2-bedroom town house (unit 21) & could confirm that all the previously reported issues were only specific to the previous apartment but not experienced in this one. However, there's a privacy issue in the new unit: apart from a Venetian blind, there's no sheer curtain in the master bedroom which faced directly to other unit. Thus, if the blind was up, everything would be seen & exposed. In our stay, we had the blind down all the time & the room was dark & gloomy.
Thus, the 4-star rating...
