Rotorua Aquatic Centre — Attraction in North Island

Today, a female lifeguard's behavior was quite off-putting. I was at a child's birthday party, and the designated area was incredibly cramped. When the kids got out of the pool to eat, a few of us adults had nowhere to sit or stand. We moved to another unoccupied party area, even though there was a much larger space further away, but it only had three small table areas with chairs, all of which were occupied by other visitors. The male lifeguard was attentive, but when the woman took over, she left her post to confront myself and two other adults, rudely demanding that we move because we weren't in the designated party area. In her defense, the kids had started going back in the pool, opening up more space, but we hadn't noticed as we were engrossed in conversation. She didn't even ask politely. To make matters worse, with 30 minutes left of the two-hour rental, we were told to pack up and leave! It's stressful enough organizing children's birthday parties, and this wasn't even my child's party, but I felt terrible for them and their experience. The rest of the party was spent crammed around two small tables, with most people standing or sitting against the windows while eating cake and never opening presents. Two hours wasn't enough time for the entire party, and three tables weren't nearly enough space for all the kids, their parents, and the families' friends...

Awesome staff! Very friendly and professional. Im a Jaffa from Auckland, I was in Rotorua on New Year’s Day desperate for a workout from too much good food. Drove around and all the gyms closed and hotels would not let me access their fitness facilities. Was about to go back dejected but then found the Aquatic Centre open like an oasis in the desert! On top of that staff were welcoming and friendly and only charged me $15 to use gym, pools and spa!!! What a nice welcome to 2019! Which were surperb! To all my fellow Jaffa’s and out of towners if u in Rotorua and need a good casual fitness workout or swim go to Aquatic Center. Highly Recommended. Big shout out to Shar Brown she’s an awesome personal trainer who helped me out there. Thanks again guys!...

Pools and spa are very good. But very bad experience with staff!!!! I visited Rotorua Aquatic centre today ( 3.7. 2020) and one cleaning lady (long blond/ginger hair) sprayed me with hose while I was changing my clothes in women changing room. I started to scream and I said, that I'm in the cabin. Bud she didn't stop and was just laughing and countinued with spraying water on my shoes and clothes. She did it twice and it was on purpose. When I came out she said, that she didn't know, that I'm still there. But she knew it, because she imitated my scream. I never exerienced something that pure despiteful. I had totally wet legs from shoes to the knees! She didn't even apologize. I hope that other your staff are more...
