Time Tripper is a short but memorable experience right in the heart of Queenstown. You purchase your ticket upstairs, then head down at your scheduled time to a cozy mini-theater located underwater!
The experience starts with a chance to observe the local fish swimming right outside the large glass window — it’s a peaceful and mesmerizing view. Then, you’re shown a short film (around 10–20 minutes) that dives into the fascinating history of Queenstown. It was genuinely interesting and informative, offering insights I hadn’t heard before. I do wish the video had been a bit longer, though — it felt like it ended too quickly, and I would’ve loved to learn even more.
After the movie, it’s feeding time! Food is dropped into the water from above, and suddenly you’re surrounded by fish rushing in. It’s a great moment to take photos or videos, especially of the ducks — they dive deep and fast, which is really impressive to watch.
The whole experience lasts around 30 minutes and is definitely worth it if you’re looking for something a bit different to do...

The experience is an underwater room with a window to the lake, and a film show of 'time travelling' back to understand more about geology, dinosaurs, tectonic plates, ice age and a little in the local area.
I understand that this is aimed at kids, but this is supposed to be an educational experience. While some of the info was good, a lot was just out of date, or stating hypothesis/theory as decided fact.
I find paid for learning experiences like this to be very disappointing, when they are teaching inaccurate and out of date information. We all, but especially kids, deserve to learn true facts and...
Read more10 bucks is cheap entertainment almost any way you spin it, which is the price of an adult to get in here, and half that for a child up to 15 (from memory). It's a single room but with a nice density of fish to observe and info plaques to tell you what you're looking at. You can pay an extra $1 to feed them and watch them go crazy which is a bit of a laugh, but you'll be in and out in 15 minutes or less. Overall, it's not a bad stop, and I didn't feel ripped off, but if you don't care for marine life or you want something to do for a bit longer, maybe go see a movie. Perhaps...
