Nice cable car ride, comfortable, and takes you to the viewing platform above Bergen but not anywhere near the views of the cable car. It is a great ride as it is quick and it takes you to a restaurant that unfortunately wasn't open when we went in early May. The cafe in the forest by the lake wasn't open either, which was a shame as the walk by the lake through the woods and past the lovely goats was really calm and smelly (saying that I mean the lovely smell of the pine trees). If we had more time we would have walked more up there as the forest was so enticing. Worth the fare to get there and would advise a visit on a clear day to soak up the views. There are also barbecue stands next to the lake for budding outdoor chefs that fancy hiking up a hillside with sacks of charcoal balanced on their heads. If you enjoy skipping through pine needles as I do (my wife says at 61, I look ridiculous) then this is the place to come.

Super view of the city from the top. A big platform with a glass wall up to just above waist height made for lovely viewing. The funicular is easily accessible from Bergen centre, has a range of refreshment outlets, an adventure playground if you have little ones with you, and has pleasant trails at the top that make for easy walking. There’s a lovely forest walk to the lake. If you’re wondering whether to do this or the cable car, the views from the top of the cable car are stupendous, but there’s not a lot at the top apart from the view and one restaurant. If you plan to go on a serious hike, then that is the place to start, otherwise I’d settle for the funicular. It's cheaper and has better views of Bergen itself, though not of the mountain ranges you can see from the plateau at the top of the cable car.

A magnificent view of Bergen. I'm sure a lot of tourists will go to the top of the funicular, take a photo and go back down again. don't miss out on the visiting the mountain lakes. The walk to the first one is easy through a shaded woodland. You can hire canoes at the first lake. Further up hill you can visit a second and more impressive mountain lake. The walk to the second lake is easy but is uphill most of the way (around 2.5km to the next one). I recommend you download the app and buy tickets before you get there. There are two queue lines - prepaid and pay on the day. We arrived first thing and there wasn't any queue. When we got back down at lunchtime, the queue was winding all the way up the street. The pre-paid line didn't have any queue! Well worth the experience.

The experience was great. The train tickets were $18 US for 2 people to the top. There is a wait but the line moves fast. There was staff to assist with ticketing when we went in June of 24. I've read past reviews that said there wasn't, they seemed to listen. At the top the view of the city is great. The goats are friendly and their fur is soft. From the station we walked to the lake and then down the long path to the city center. The path is steep and several mi/km. So if you decide to take the very scenic walk back, do wear good shoes. The walk back took us about 90 minutes but we stopped and explored. It's estimated at 45 minutes normally. I highly recommend! One of the best things to do in Bergen

Amazing🤩 So worth visiting! Best to buy tickets in advance to scip the lines(or do it by app than you arive and go stright to the line bought tickets and you save a long long line-doring holidays). We were suprised by founding pony-horses up by Fløyen aktiv. So kids hade a nice ride🤩 Restaurants and sightseeing point. You can take an one-time grill and have a picknick in the forrest! Kids playground and nice nature. It is tour you can have a nice meal in a 5*restaurant or a good walk in a forrest to the lake and see all the Bergen from a mountain. You choose! Best place in the city.

This place is very scenic. We took the tram car, and to get the best view or record a video, you should wait for a seat at the front, which offers a great view of the city. The wait was worthwhile for the view and video recording. I recommend buying tickets in advance from the official website, where they are cheaper. Once you reach the top, there's a small walk to a beautiful lake. If you go to the right, there's another panoramic view of the city. Highly recommended! You could try Floyen to Ulriken walk. Takes time but it’s good to do while being bergen..!
