Always passed by this place, finally got to eat here for dinner. When you first enter the door the atmosphere of the place makes you feel comfortable, even more so during dinner time when the ambient lighting of the place settled you on to enjoy food on the menu. Chirasi Bara, for those who doesnt want to spend on the sashimi sets, could be considered a sampler but smaller pieces. The sashimi were fresh, the rice flavorful and seasoned well, and the miso soup was so delicious. Uni Nigiri, refreshing and flavorful, the sushi rice compliments the uni. Iberico Pork Ribs, this dish simply outshined the others we ordered. The ribs were so tender and the grilled corn and okra perfectly paired well as sides, although would really recommend ordering rice with this as it paired so well. Maguro Avocado, this was average yet really refreshing as it is served cold. Personally Didn't like the Poke sauce as it had too much sesame oil and tasted way too umami/salty. Without the sauce the dish is okay. Wasabi Ice Cream, tried this because of the unusual combination wasabi and ice cream. It was perfect as it was creamy and the taste of wasabi is there while not being overpowering that will leave your mouth burning. 5/5 Will definitely come back to this place!

I was hesitant to eat at a Japanese (Peruvian fusion) restaurant due to the fact that I'm half Japanese and have had amazing food in Japan and was looking more to experiencing Filipino food while in Manila. But can I just say.... Wow. My only regret is not having eaten here earlier in my trip so that I could return and try other things on the menu. My fiance and I had the fresh oysters, wagyu gyoza, nigiri set, nikkei tiradito, classic and salmon Thai ceviches and the seared tuna w/ sea urchin risotto. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service (by Ben, our waiter) was fantastic. After we ordered, Ben moved us to a larger 4 person table to accommodate all of the food that we had coming our way. The prices were also very reasonable (maybe higher end for the Philippines but low compared to getting similar dishes in America). I would definitely highly recommend trying this place and coming early to get the salmon Thai ceviches before they sell out.

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here recently. It was Maundy Thursday and was glad a sit down restaurant was open. Restaurant decor is chic and modern but very cozy. Started with the cocktails around 300 to 400 bucks each, price is not out of place in this neighborhood but was not that memorable for me, both were sake based cocktails. Appetizers and rolls were tasty especially the octopus and the ceviche roll. Entree was seared tuna with cheesy risotto with cilantro salad. The tuna was seared properly, risotto was the proper texture and the cilantro salad was very refreshing but something was missing. Collectively the dish did not work for me. My favorite part of that dish was the cilantro salad. My wife ordered a braised beef dish that was very tender and flavorful, it is unfortunately garnished with an underpoached egg smack in the middle of the fries, which seemed so out of place in the dish. Dessert was incredibly disappointing for me. I ordered a scoop of their homemade matcha ice cream with very high expectations, after all they were charging 180 php for 1 scoop and it was home made. Well, besides the freezer burn and the chunky texture, I felt the matcha flavor was lacking. The other dessert was the Tres Leches, which looks like a decrusted brioche roll dipped in condensed milk topped with diced mangoes and garnished with a mint leaf and drizzled with some sort of caramel sauce. It seemed so gauche compared to how their other dishes were executed. The servers are very attentive. There were other interesting things in the menu that I wanted to try still but I will not be rushing to come back anytime soon. Note: Washroom is in another part of the building, so you have to leave the restaurant to go to the washroom.

I really dont get the appeal. Almost everything had fried elements and mayonnaise, so nakakaumay siya after a while. The sushis definitely did not hit the mark. They all lacked flavor, although they had a lot of potential maybe if each ingredient was seasoned more. The rice both in the sushi and the bowls, were definitely not japanese rice. It ruined the texture of sushi for me. Oyster bowl was something i enjoyed. The oysters were huge and cooked perfectly, but my only hope was better rice and more sauce. At some point youllstart to lack flavor The skirt steak bowl is very bland. Steak is cooked perfectly, but it isn't seasoned enough and you won't taste any marbling, so it's just a tender piece of beef. The whole bowl also didn't have any sauce, which eventually makes the bowl boring to eat The shrimp? Yes definitely get that. But the squid? It's 70% breading and 30% squid. Extremely oily and is topped with mayonnaise Chicken skewers are honestly the best thing here. It has hints of cumin and a bit of sugar. Reminds me of provincial chinese barbeque but more refined Overall I don't think Nikkei honors japanese or peruvian cuisine. It's kind of just fusion just to say it's fusion. The flavors don't balance and the textures sometimes don't work. It's also 85% japanese and 15% peruvian. I wished that it could've introduced us more to the less common cuisine

Ugh, the food here was disappointing. This restaurant has been in my list for the past few years now and I was finally able to eat here only to taste below average food. Here's what we ordered: * ceviche roll - decent * panko roll - not good * unagi asparagus roll - decent * ebi tempura - bad, this is the first time I've tasted tempura that was bland. My dad prefers salty food so when he asked for us to add soy sauce to his mirin sauce, we thought it was his taste buds but when we tried it, we totally understood why * truffle gyudon - again lacking salt/seasoning and very very minimal taste of truffle * oyster donburi - oysters were definitely too small and needed at least 2 pcs more in relation to how much rice there was. Btw, the rice was not good too. * iced teas - needed to be steeped some more for the flavors to come through since it was watery tasting Overall, if you're reading this to decide whether to eat here or not, don't. If you're already seated and deciding what to order, I reco to minimize your losses by trying out one dish first to see if you're happy with it or not before ordering a bunch of dishes.

Impeccable service! Best time to dine at night - it has a relaxing and laid back ambiance. Thus place is quite full between 7 to 9pm. Highly recommended dish is the Lomo Saltado - the beef is so tender, soft and juicy. The sauce is to die for! It's really good! It comes with a side dish fries and poach egg, it lacks salt though. Seared Tuna with Sea Urchin Risotto is their best seller. Chunky risotto texture, fresh seared tuna and the sea urchin gives it a different kick. They have a complimentary sweet potato chips that are crisp to perfection - we love this too! They also serve a wide array of beverages from coffee, tea, wine and liquor. Great place for a date to just eat, chill and chat.
