Been shopping almost daily at Landmark for nearly a year. It's fine but I wanted to see what Landers had and it's a block or more closer to my condo. Tried to go in today but was stopped and asked for a "membership card". I didn't have one and didn't know one was needed. Apparently there is no option to let you even look around to see if a membership payment might be worth it. In any case, I refuse to play the membership game. What does it get you? You fill out forms and pay money so that you can.... wait for it.... pay more money. It's a ridiculous scam and I'm sorry so many people fall for it. My grocery budget runs from $600 - $900 usd per month. Landers could have had all of that. But they wanted to squeeze me first for whatever the paltry cost of the membership is. Sorry folks. You lose. What an idiotic business model. UPDATE: I did end up VERY grudgingly paying for a membership because they had things I couldn't get anywhere else. But we needed a quick set of slippers one night when GF'S broke. Cheapest, simplest pair was 1200p. Same ones are 150p everywhere else. Absurd. Then all the other things I wanted disappeared. I thought ok, at least they have free haircuts with the membership. I went today for my first one. The queue was 18 ahead of me. So in the end, the membership is a negative value. No value tonight at all. UPDATE NOV 30, This store makes me angrier and angrier and I am in the verge of demanding a refund for the membership. All I needed today was bananas and any antacid. Tums, rolaids, it didn't matter. Shockingly, they had the lousy bananas. But not surprisingly, they had NO TUMS OR ANY OTHER ANTACID OF ANY TYPE OR DESCRIPTION. Neither did the PHARMACY. I asked three employees in landers and two in the pharm. Also the pharm did not have the second most common insulin on earth, glargine. they also did not have the second most common blood pressure med on earth. In fact, NOT ONCE has this pharmacy had ONE SINGLE THING I EVER ASKED FOR. NOT ONE TIME. So it is truly at the point of asking myself why I wasted the membership fee. Landers is becoming the one store I avoid. Imagine, a gigantic superstore that does not carry a single type or brand of any antacid. How utterly stupid are these people??!! It boggles the mind. It's like the home depot here that doesn't carry pliers (they don't). Is it downright mental retardation? What's the short circuit here? UPDATE MID DEC 2024, Hopefully last trip to Landers. Didn't have beef liver, didn't have calves liver, didn't have pork liver, only chicken liver. Didn't have beet juice or couldn't tell us where, didn't have sugarless cranberry juice or couldn't tell us where. Didn't have canned spinach. The list goes on forever. This is a king of giant boutique store where far too many normal, basic items are missing. Whoever chooses the product lineup should be fired. Completely disgusted. And believe it or not, Landers does not carry ANY cough suppressant at all. Not liquid, not lozenges. Nothing. Whoever controls their stocking is the enemy of this store. UPDATE: A million kinds of milk, but none lactose free. No keto ice cream. Very odd (bizarre) product...
Read moreI recently visited Landers Superstore BGC Uptown, a store that is known for its imported cosmetics, vitamins, and junk food. While the store definitely has its strengths, there are some areas where it could certainly improve.
First and foremost, it's important to note that in order to purchase anything from Landers Superstore BGC Uptown, you need to have an annual membership that costs 700 Peso. While this may not be a big deal for some shoppers, it's certainly something to keep in mind if you're on a tight budget.
Moving on to the store itself, I was impressed with the range of imported cosmetics, vitamins, and junk food on offer at Landers Superstore BGC Uptown. From chocolates and biscuits to high-end skincare products, there's definitely something for everyone here.
One of the highlights for me was the fresh produce section - I've never seen such fresh fruits and vegetables in the Philippines before! Landers Superstore BGC Uptown takes pride in sourcing the best possible produce for its customers.
However, there were a couple of issues that I noticed during my visit to Landers Superstore BGC Uptown. Firstly, we found a cake with mould in the bakery section, which we promptly reported to the staff. While this was dealt with quickly and efficiently, it was still a bit concerning.
On a more positive note, the meat, seafood, and poultry section at Landers Superstore BGC Uptown was absolutely massive, and there was a huge variety of products to choose from. Similarly, the dairy section was impressive, with a range of yogurts, milk, butters, and ice creams on offer.
Landers Superstore BGC Uptown also has a deli section that primarily sells pizza, pasta, and other fried items. While the food here was decent, it wasn't anything particularly special.
Finally, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the staff on the membership counters at Landers Superstore BGC Uptown. They seemed snobbish and privileged, and didn't really make an effort to be friendly or welcoming. A smile can go a long way in making customers feel valued, and I think this is an area where Landers Superstore BGC Uptown could definitely improve.
All in all, while there were some areas for improvement, I think that Landers Superstore BGC Uptown has a lot to offer. If you're looking for imported cosmetics, vitamins, and junk food, or if you're in the market for some seriously fresh produce, this could be the store for you. Just be prepared to shell out for the annual membership fee at Landers Superstore BGC Uptown, and don't expect too much from the staff on the...
