Read moreFinally got to try this well-hyped place. I love everything Matcha so I was so excited. The queue is not so long when we went there (Friday around 3 pm). The staff are friendly and accommodating. We ordered Premium Matcha, Matcha latte and Americano (for my Dad who prefers coffee). The Premium Matcha is pretty good even without the milk and it tastes like legit Japanese premium matcha with the umami and minimal bitterness. The Matcha latte is so good. It reminded me of another local matcha place that unfortunately closed down years ago. My Dad loved his Americano.
However, price is higher than most coffee/matcha place and the ambience is not welcoming to big groups since it's mostly individual seats but I think the set up is more for take out or for individuals/small groups which is unlike other common cafe places with all the comfy seats and tables good for bigger groups. I appreciate the sockets that you can see near some seats. If you plan to have a drink with a big group, I suggest to just have it to go/take out since there is no space for big groups to hang out.
To conclude, I still think it's worth a try for...
Read moreFirst time trying The Matcha Tokyo! I’ve been seeing this place for years and always passed by, but I finally had time to try it out. We only stayed for a short while since I was waiting to pick up a relative from St. Luke’s nearby — but even in that short visit, I already loved the experience.
I ordered a cappuccino (my go-to for any new café I try) and it was SO GOOD! Definitely up there with my favorite cafés. The flavor was bold, strong, and perfectly balanced — just how I like it.
The space itself is small, designed more for quick stops or quiet moments — perfect for chilling, sitting, and charging your phone or laptop. It’s simple and minimal, but gets the job done if you’re looking to take a breather or enjoy good coffee.
The staff were super accommodating, friendly, and professional, which made the experience even better. I also appreciated the sign stating that prices are exclusive of the service charge, but it’s waivable upon request — though personally, I don’t recommend waiving it since the staff truly deserve it for the excellent service they provide.
Will definitely come back whenever I’m in...
