Big thanks to the city council for organizing the Night of Museums for everyone! According to the tradition, this year The President Palace also took part in this citywide event. Despite the long queue and almost 3 hours of waiting it was totally worth it to entry the Palace and pace where the President is greetings his guests and sign important agreements. The Night of Museums was an awesome chance to see the Palace from inside as it is closed for visiting during whole year. This place is elegant but at the same time temperate interior. There are several Chambers where Mr President received his guests and treat them on the highest level of importance. W latach 1918–1939 był oficjalną siedzibą Rady Ministrów i Prezesa Rady Ministrów. Od 1994 oficjalna siedziba Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Był wielokrotnie przebudowywany a swój obecny wygląd zewnętrzny uzyskał na początku XIX wieku. W czasie obrony Warszawy we wrześniu 1939 został poważnie uszkodzony. W 1965 przed pałacem ustawiono pomnik księcia Józefa Poniatowskiego, kopię z 1832, zniszczonego w grudniu 1944 przez Niemców. Kopia pomnika została ufundowana i wykonana przez Duńczyków na podstawie modelu oryginału. W 1990 rozpoczął się czteroletni generalny remont pałacu z przeznaczeniem na siedzibę Prezydenta RP i jego Kancelarii. Po zakończeniu remontu w 1994 pałac stał się oficjalną siedzibą Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej i otrzymał nową oficjalną nazwę – pałac Prezydencki. I just came across this impressive building while walking on the main avenue which leads to the old town square. I visited the churches nearby and I took some pictures of the equestrian Statue of Prince Poniatowski.
