I had dinner at the Marconi restaurant in the Bristol Hotel Warsaw on the weekend with my parents. It was our first time there. At the time of booking I understood we would be sitting in the restaurant itself, as shown on the website, which is elegant with a light and fresh fitout. We were seated at a low seating table with swivel chairs in the bar area/space which was very dim, with a completely different atmosphere than shown on the website, and what we were expecting. I have attached a photo.
At the time of booking I was told the lady noted down one of the better tables for us as it was a special occasion. When I questioned the table location on our arrival I was told one of the embassies would be using the main space later. By the time we left dinner there was still no one in the main restaurant space. It was open and empty. A the time of booking the lady should have advised me the main restaurant space would be out of use, when I specifically requested a nice table if possible.
Even though there was only one table of 4 people seated before us in the whole space and we only ordered 3 mains, we were waiting for 45 mins for the food to arrive.
On the positive the food itself was perfect. The duck and another meat dish. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff.
We were looking forward to the experience but overall (apart from the food) it was...
Read moreWhile the Hotel Bristol in Warsaw offers elegance and professional service from the front desk and housekeeping teams, the same unfortunately cannot be said for its main restaurant, Marconi. The food here was not the best and felt uninspired, and nowhere near what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. But what disappointed the dining experience was the inconsistent service. During my initial dining visits, most of the staff were warm and courteous, while a few others at Marconi seemed disengaged, with a particular mention of the so-called supervisor, Olat, whose attitude was unprofessional. As an American guest, I found the lack of basic courtesy and hospitality to be noticeable and, frankly, unacceptable. After the issue was brought to a manager’s attention, it was resolved. The restaurant supervisor, Patrycja, and the manager are passionate and true professionals. Despite the initial negative experience, I hope that the management at Marconi will address and rectify the outstanding issues, so that guests staying at Hotel Bristol can enjoy not only the accommodation but also a wonderful dining experience. I look forward to returning to the restaurant on my next...
Read morePoor service when asking about a promotion/christmas offer called Warsaw/Bristol experience - I couldn’t remember the exact name which I remember reading from a leaflet when I was eating with some colleagues there a week ago. When I came back to the restaurant to inquire about it the hostess claimed they had no such promotion and even totally miscredited me by saying they never had such a thing in the 3 years she has worked there. Then after further explanation of the promotion and that this was in fact from this restaurant and from a leaflet in the middle of the table then she realised there was something there that might be it. Still she was not being helpful at all when I asked how to order this experience and told me to ask at the reception of Bristol which was were I started out in the first place. I think the behaviour was overall rude and unfriendly, and it even made me lose interest in buying the experience as a planned...
