Careful you don’t book the ‘student walking tours’ as it was god awful. Barely any information shared just a walk through the old town while they chat amongst themselves. You’d be as well just wandering around Funchal yourself. Otherwise stick to guru walks, shame it’s at 5.30pm though. The cheek to demand a €14 fee per person too, it’s usually voluntary fee to what you feel it’s worth. Worst walking tour we’ve personally had, learnt nothing about the city other than the old bakery and the street which caught fire. Had to ask about flags, wine etc. No1 showed at meeting point either we had to walk to the campus to find them.

My wife and I just visited the Jesuit temple and it was a truly awe-inspiring experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the beauty and grandeur of the temple - a stark contrast to the exterior. The intricate and stunning artwork was amazing. We also loved the peaceful atmosphere of the temple and how it provided a wonderful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall, my wife and I highly recommend a visit to the Jesuit temple in Funchal. It's a must-see for anyone interested in history, art, or spirituality. Five stars!

An impressive church, on the way we stopped in it for a while to soak up the energy and admire the beauty of the individual artistic elements.

Fascinating church 1640s and if you are happy to climb stairs good views of Funchal from the roof. Worth a visit
