The day after, the guest accused me of stealing her passport, took me as a hostage and didn't let me leave the hostel. I had to remain in the hostel until the manager arrived. Later on, it turned out those accusations were baseless. And how did the manager react? NOTHING. Basically she threatened to call police in case I defend myself, continued hosting that racist guest for an additional night despite my objection and they didn't even bother saying a simple "sorry" for that offensive experience which happened in her hostel. Read moreA very disappointing experience - was supposed to stay for 5 nights, stayed for one. It wasn’t the hostel itself (small but nice, ceilings are paper thin so noise from above travels extensively). It was the hostile and cold attitude of the front desk staff that was so unpleasant. The short version: found a stain on my pillow and asked if this could be changed. They explained that housekeeping had left for the day, I was fine to wait until the following. The lady then suggested I could leave and get a refund if I wasn’t happy. An extreme response to a request for clean sheets. I spoke to the owner who apologised on their behalf and tried to make the situation better. However I don’t stay at places I’m not made to feel welcome.
